Angela Withers is President of the Board of Directors of the non-profit Nehrling Gardens. It is a volunteer “working” board so that means she wears many hats. She has been involved with historic Nehrling Gardens since 2003, first in the effort to save it from development, and then directly managing the rehabilitation of the property since the non-profit purchased it in late 2009. Angela grew up on a beef cattle station (ranch) in Queensland, Australia and received a B.A. degree in English and History from the University of Queensland. She is passionate about the need for Florida to protect its history and its unique landscape; about the value of providing a rich variety of cultural and environmental experiences for the community; and the need to educate young people about the
natural world.
