My introduction to Classified was unexpected after not collecting anything at retail for years. I had not known Hasbro had made any announcements, and I certainly wasnt looking for GI Joe (it was dormant) when walking back into a Target toy aisle just out of curiosity, when I had discovered the treasures before me: Classified wave 1. There they were... Snake Eyes, Scarlett, Roadblock, Duke... I was mystified and grabbed doubles of each! The Classified series is everything I have ever wanted GI Joe to become... Detailed, realistic, and tactical.
Of course I raced home, Googled everything I could about the Classified line, grabbed the Snake Eyes 01 off of Ebay and consumed everything since!

The Cobra Vipers definitely deserve a widespread reissue on the retro cardback. I managed to get a few, but damn they were a pain to obtain.

From the moment I heard that a 6inch GI-Joe line was coming.... I was so excited!
And then it happened....
Snake Eyes #00 was announced and available for pre-order! I wish I would have pre-ordered more than 1.
The box design, along with the art print made the very first Classified figure something special.
Wave 1 was shockingly odd. But I was still happy with them. However, it only got better from that point on!

I just started collecting action figures this year again. Im 30 years old now and i played with action figures a lot when i was kid so collecting figures again hits me with that nostalgia and that general good feel.
Since im from germany i never was really into GI JOE because the marketing for it just didnt work out here i guess, but when i started collecting and i saw all these new 6" figures that were being released, GI JOE classified caught my attention.
I love the GI JOE snake eyes origin figure. The body sculpt is simple and its design is clean imo. Its funny that in the US you can get that snake eyes for like 5 bucks and here in germany he is still around 30 bucks.

SERPENTOR should not have been an exclusive. Exclusives should be reserved for odd repaints like Tiger Force and Python Patrol. Making mainline characters exclusives only infuriates and alienates fans. I really don’t understand why HASBRO keeps making mainline characters exclusives. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
I could not agree more. I understand wanting to drive interest through scarcity, but what they have done with these exclusives is counter productive and just aggravates fans.
You would definitely not be happier if you weren’t collecting Classified… also I’m almost certain your moms didn’t talk like that bro 🧐
