Crafting with File Folders: All in One Journal Folio

- Today we're going to put together a little folio style journal with a couple of regular letter sized file folders. Just a heads up, this project might not be the best for beginning paper crafters.

I'm not sure of the particular magnets I used in this project. They were some very thin neodymium magnets I'd ordered on etsy a long time ago. My favorite brand of thin magnets though, is Basic Grey. Here is an etsy shop that I like that carries them (though you might want to price compare with other sources)

File folders are an excellent material to work with and decorate. The magnetic envelopes are fun.

Great project. Thanks for the walkthrough. I've never seen those little eyelet washers. What I have used is a piece of packaging plastic. Cut a square or rectangle. Cut a u-shape in it big enough to fit around the leg of the eyelet. Place it between the eyelet and the paper or whatever you're putting the eyelet through. Attach the eyelet and ease the plastic out. This option also works if you're using a brad to attach the button.

Very neat and cool combinations
Great video and use of old file folders. I'm glad I watched all the way through first, though, to avoid some of the "mistakes". 😉I honestly had never seen buttons made that way. I just use real ones. 😜 I also was surprised that you use E6000 to glue down your magnets when double sided tape works fine. It's also easier to position them without waiting for the glue to dry. Love this project and will be making a few.

Hello Dawn, I’ve loved every single second of this video. File folders being a favorite to create with. Great idea for scoring. Especially when you have minimal space. I simply adore the 🐝 hive. It looks like a precious Christmas ornament.

You did it again Dawn. This is so adorable. I have been wanting to do a bee journal or book or something. I love your digitals too. I must have this set. I am so glad you are doing videos again. I miss your ideas. My crafting group has did so many of your ideas. And yes we are still doing things several times a week. COVID hasn’t stopped these ladies. Only think is that I am loving not having to pack up my supplies and tools so we could craft elsewhere. You forgot something, get up and get it. Thank you so much.

Very good instructions!!!!!! And I agree with both your husband and son. The seamless cover for the front makes it so beautiful! And the bees on the waxed thread will be wonderfully whimsical. I am new to "junk" journal community. And I have to admit.....I was lost and decided it wasn't for me because most of them are so busy and full of so much stuff that there is no room left for journaling or adding the special mementos. When I saw yours I thought "Now there is a beautiful journal". That is what they should be like! I love your bee kit and will be making a purchase. Thank you so much for sharing. I can't wait to start making my journals! I love this pattern and the templates you shared. As for the length of the video......I was engrossed til the very end and didn't notice the time!

You could cut one of the Velcro dots in half and put it in the middle to hold it down.
