I think the hardest thing about learning full OLL is not just remembering the algorithms, but remembering which algorithm is used for which case.
I have that problem on beginner oll
Honestly, I think learning full oll is not difficult , I learned it in a month and oll algs are easy and simple to learn
I learned in 2 days

I, too, learned full oll by purchasing 57 cubes

I'm learning full OLL right now. Learned 12 so far (and already knew the 7 for cross). The best tip is that you can spam the same algorithm over and over and it will cycle. It's good for practicing algs. You don't need to reset every time. Over time as you spam the same algs, you'll also start to see patterns that you already know how to solve. And you'll start to learn which algs are opposites of each other. It doesn't really help solve faster, but it does help to see how the algs relate to each other.
Nothing helps solve faster straight away. I was averaging about 50 seconds with beginner method then when I started f2l I went up to a over a minute but it helped me get faster. Now I know 18/21 pll and like 13 oll and I'm sub 25.
Same with plls, when learning and they came up, they'd delay me a bit more because I know how to solve it quickly in 2 algs but I made myself think about doing it in 1 alg
Your daughter is quite the cubing theorist :)
You! Lol
But that’s just a theory. A cube theory. aaaanndd cut.

This is literally the best OLL video I have ever seen. Seeing your process helped me be able to recognize what I should and shouldn’t be doing when learning oll algs, plus the sites you listed are golden. Thanks man, we all appreciate it!

If you're already in the last step, that means you already figured out those 53 with their triggers. This video apparently was to make people who haven't known much oll and hesitate to learn all of them because there's so many of them
I just learned full ZB xD

I’m learning full OLL right now. Slowly but surely. For me it’s not about being fast. I just enjoy learning new algorithms and then seeing them work during a solve. When I learned full PLL it was, and still is very rewarding.
As someone currently learning oll, this is really cool to watch!

Great video Tingman!!!!! This has really helped me learn full OLL. I haven't fully memorized all of them but just from watching this video I went from less than 20 to 30. Keep up the great work!!!!
I’m new here, and at first I thought the daughter part was supposed to be a joke. But um, dang.
Dyllpickalio Yeah 😅😅
This is the best video for the people who are starting to learn oll algs....because there are so many cases i got confused where to start...but then i found this video and it was like a blessing ✌🏻
I’m the same way with N-perms as you are with dot cases. They’re not my fastest PLLs, but I learned them early, drill them a LOT, and really enjoy when they come up.
1:00 j perm: try to avoid re grips as much as possible tingman:regrips for sune
oh man, Olor is so cute. I love how she gives her explanation about look ahead, and then snaps through the rest of the solve and then kinda shrugs, as if to say, "see? easy."
although I'm doing Roux, this video is super interesting, and helpful-I don't think I encounter a lot of those cases, but your long sledgehammer, among other things, was great.
ThoperSought thanks man! Roux is fascinating, but I’m only going to venture there once I master a few more things. And yeah she’s so random, love her to bits!
@@Tingman
I started there because I found a video series that taught beginner Roux with just two algs-at that time even sune seemed impossibly long to remember.
I feel like I've missed some stuff that would have been easier if I'd started with CFOP; partly because Roux is maybe not as thoroughly researched as CFOP, and partly because most people don't start there, so there's a lot in videos and guides that's unspoken.
otoh, as much as I struggled with sune, I'm not sure I could have learned even beginner CFOP without rage quitting. now I'm getting better at learning algs, I've started in on full CMLL.
I'll be really curious to see how you react to Roux if you try it out.
ThoperSought Wow that’s really interesting. I’ll let you know if I ever try it out!

great!
if you're interested, I can point you to a bunch of different resources.
also, I'm trying to organize as much of it as possible for myself, and if you think those docs would be interesting, too, just let me know. I'm not finished with that phase for one-look cmll, yet, though. hopefully by the time you're interested, I will have it all ready.
Hey bro! I think I’m gonna learn Oll now! By the way your daughter is really cute! First one to watch the whole video
ive known oll for a while and my dot cases have been a weakness. The alg you used for one of them is way better and im glad i can use it now. Thx
This Video helped me to Start learning full OLL. I finished the learning process after 3 Weeks, even though I had demotivation phases in between.
It is really easy to learn! There are many supereasy algs and No Long algs at all. In my opinion OLL is easier to learn than PLL, but it doesnt save you that much time.
0:54 "wait full oll in one day?!"
25 min for each case 😅
I’ve got 8 OLLs left!! For me is about exposure exposure exposure and eventually it sticks in my brain. I found that saying “I love this algorithm.” helps me to not resist the alg. Yesss Badmephisto is a legend!!! I still have his app on my phone.
really nice video! probably it will help me a lot, cuz im learning oll these days - or at least i try to :D
thank you 4 ur content sir
This video is really helpful and especially for me because I'm learning full oll and this helps me remember the cases and the way you explained them makes them easy to memorize and remember
I have finally finished learning full oll for the last week or so, and I have decided not to learn the dot cases because I use edge-control during F2L... It took me about a month, so I guess it was worth it.
I needed this a lot, trying to learn the rest of OLL before Worlds, thanks!
It helps me a lot with the tips... Thanks bro! Thumb up!
I know probably half of OLL, which is where I have been for a good year or so I think. I just decided recently to learn the rest, and this video actually was very helpful in creating a pathway I can follow to make the learning process a bit easier. Also, as everyone else has said, your daughter is adorable (and also quite talented).

Thanks so much for this video. It’s by far the best oll cover ever. Keep it up!
I finished learning full oll a day before my first competition which was a couple months ago
Just started learning CFOP
Practising F2L
And was bit hesitant to start OLL
Then found your video
Just started learning them
Thanks
Excellent video - that kind of progression is how I learn so it will be super useful and I've saved it to my cube playlist (I'm concentrating on F2L after learning 2-look OLL/PLL ATM so it's good to see I'm on the right tack)...and the end, at first I was awwww, and then I was daaaaaamn. I've only watched a couple of your vids to date, but I've just subbed!
Thank you so much this makes everything so much easier
Using 4LLL I went from avg 45 to avg 15 within about 3 months. Focus mainly cross and F2L
old comment but i agree. whenever i get a fast f2l it's always close to my pb... but getting faster with oll/pll is harder past one point.
I'm a huge fan! I was first introduced to your "One Year of Speed Cubing" video by a link from JPerm's channel. That was a great a video by the way. I have shared it with a few people myself. We've even had a quick exchange prior to you going live with the video of you racing your daughter. I asked whether your son showed an interest in cubing. In this video, I wish you would have shown all 57 of your OLL algs. I've learned all 57 OLL cases myself, but I use some different algs than some of the ones that you demonstrated and I'd be interested to know which other algs you do differently.
I am more impressed for people who memorized OLLCP, they memorized OLL and also oriented the corner using a brand new algorithm within the same algorithm without messing it up
This guy literally thought me the full OLL with so much ease. Thank You Tingman! 👊👌 New sub here.
lmao Im just shocoked at how much Qiyi warrior Ws you got
Hey Tingman, I absolutely love your tutorials for OLL and PLL. I'm still a beginner cuber and I'm just starting to ao5 under 1 minute. I want to practice the OLL and PLL but every printable guide only has Algs for fixing the case, but not for setting up the case. Do you think you can make a page with algorithms that set up the cube for each OLL and PLL case for practice? That would be soo helpful!
just do the same alg a few times with the cube already solved and you will set it up
@@brasik While I was trying oll they are leading to other and another not a direct solve from a particular algorithm. Is this how it is suppose to be?
@@raseemriyas2889 oh yeah some plls (g perms) do that as well
I learned all of these tricks after studying the sheet that the X Man Tornado V2 manual that was given in the package, it was really helpful, and after doing them you find out if that is the best finger trick one compared to the Internet.
Omg thanks so much, every time I look at some algs they look really long and scary so I don't even look through them but this explained how easy they are so I actually bother to learn them!
Thank you this helped so much!
Cubing Gamer you’re welcome!
I really enjoyed this video. I have just started learning 2 look OLL/PLL. Once I've learned that, I'm going to come back to this video to help me learn full OLL. Thanks!
I can see that little thing from Coles in the background
QiYi Warrior has the best pastel shades ngl. Became a fan after buying bunch of their keychain cubes.
I sat down and learned full oll front to back in 6 days, totally worth it if you just wanna get it over with
Sometimes I just do the last t shape alg for the one of the fish algs
I mostly used the gan alg sheet but found better algs for some of them from other sources including badmephisto. I recommend that if you find a particular alg awkward, try finding an alternative one.
Yes I should’ve said that! If you don’t like the given alg, find another. There are heaps for every case.
I like dot cases because they feel like really saving time (because in 2LOLL I'd have to do two "Frurufs" plus an OCLL alg). I just learnt those plus some very easy/short ones. I've now got a 51.4% chance to meet an OLL case I know and for the remaining it's just one "Fruruf" + an OCLL alg. Gotta practice more F2L again though, to actually get faster. 🙈
me : this will take years to learn
tingmans daughter: I know like over half of oll
The way i am learning full oll is to learn two algorithms everyday and I'm drilling those algs with an oll trainer. Hopefully in a month I can learn full oll. :]
The child is giving me self-esteem issues😂😂💔
Niceeee (Video Idea, how i became sub 15 on 3x3)
at 6:21 another way to recognize that oll case is that it's the second part of T Perm just minus the F
Kan you make a video of F2l. You explain it so clear. I like that
You shouldn't learn alg for f2l in the beginning because intuitive f2l is much more easier and more beneficial to learn the cube.
SicarioVN ok thx
Thanks for teaching me
Thank you sir it helped me a lot
5:05 the alg on the left is anisune with wide r's at the beginning and end
Actually helped literally a legit video
7:39 that was also my last case! ;)
the dislike is probably from people that think this is a beginners tutorial...
Thia not a bigginers tutorial, this is a OLL Guide
As someone that knows full pll and oll, if u put the time and work into it you should be able to learn full oll in a week like I was able to. I would practice for hours after i got home from school and after doing homework. Basically how i did it and i learned all my algs is first memarize just the letters only. Then memarize the primes and fine a pattern. For just pure example take (R U' R U') (R' U R' U). U would memarize okay so in first set the U's are prime and in second set the R's are prime. Ik this is super basic example but it's what i did.
Next huge tip is go theought the algs in your head or with a cube theought the day. Don't just memarize it and be dont because then your commuting it to short term memory and it will take longer to learn. So memarize it and get it down, then in 30 min or an hour go through it coupke more times and rinse and repeat.
Finally keep in mind a lot of the algs use similar finger patterns and movement. You'll see it as you go theought algs but if you really break it down and separate the actuall unique algs from ones that are very similar, it's really not to bad. Plus some are even finger movement you learned from 2 look oll and full pll if u memarized that before.
Also I used dans cubing cheat sheets. Idk if there the most efficient or best ones but Iv used his for every alg i know.
And that's how i got it it a week
I learned OLL the Badmephisto order, and I wouldn't say it helped at all. Whatever order works for you, anyway.
(I also learned using his OLL and PLL algs, because I'm a dinosaur. I am still finding algs I need to replace (such as that dot OLL you explained long-sledge with, mine has a rotation))
Ryan
TheInnocence111 that’s interesting, thanks for letting us know. You’re right, it’s really just whatever works hey. One thing I was thinking of saying is start with whichever case you feel you seem to get really often. (Although it’s probably statistically biased... but at least gives you a starting point.)
6:44 is the end of the Yperm, couldve put it with the beginning of the Yperm 2 olls earlier
I agree with you, I'd say learning oll is worth it if youre at 12-15 seconds, I average around 18-20 and the only case I know is the T one where you just do the F seksy F' and im sure I could get so much quicker by just practicing f2l,pair preserving and general look ahead
Nice! Ill be jumping into oll now. I average 13 or so, and only know 15ish olls so yeah i should be learning now because it will really help me get faster mr than other people i think. Thanks for the video Ming!
Oopsi, started with OLL, now on to PLL 😬👌
Hi tingman, thank you very much. Interesting links. My story in rubick's cubes is similar to yours 😉 I've been cubing for 11 month but I can't reach the sub 20 barrear. I'm going to try to follow your steps. Thanks, Carlos.
why do we need to learn DOT cases because of we can insert our last pair by a sledge hammer that will skip a DOT case

for the case of the sune and the T OLL I think is better to do the T OLL and then the sune so you can recognise a CLL if you want
i just learned full pll in 4-5 days and ive just discovered i already know 40 oll algs and before my competition on the 29th ( its the 16th today at the time of the comment) i can learn full oll and more effiecient f2l and get better at it and get really good times for my comp and keep going to them and get even better times because i would have even more time to practice.
Edit: comp went amazing for my first competition and I now know full oll and I'm currently working on improving alg execution times and my recognition.👍
Ay great man, How much has your cubing improved this year?
you don't actually need to learn the dot cases (thankfully), and you can do this by inserting your last pair differently. for example, instead of using U R U' R' and getting a dot case, you can insert using a sledgehammer and you will never get a dot case again.
