My favorite part about Metal Gear Rising was when Raiden said "I'm here to Revengeance" and then proceeded to Revengeance all over me and the homies.
After not playing Metal Gear Rising Revengeance for nearly a decade, I thought why not play through the game again, but instead with a self imposed challenge. No damaging this game on my first playthrough back probably wasn't the best idea, but it was great.

The secret to defeat Sam in the first mission is when he says he'll let you have the first hit he's being serious. Just stand perfectly still and he will do nothing. He'll eventually start walking menacingly towards you but still won't attack you. After awhile this times out the section and you pass the fight without taking any damage.
All these years, and I had no idea. Great stuff!

Playing through this game normally, beating Senator Armstrong was an insane challenge for me. I did it eventually, but it took many tries, a short break from the game, and my in-game health being almost completely drained on my sucessful attempt. I couldn't imagine trying to beat this game without taking any damage, every boss fight was a challenge. You never fail to impress. Adventures in London.
I found monsoon took me more tries then all the other bosses combined. Not sure why.
He was easy for me (I was on normal mode) but sundowner was a challenge for me until I figured out that you could cut his sim consumers off with my long ass blade. Capable of cutting up something 100 times my size with a slice. But that’s normal. Can’t wait for hard mode

About the first Sam encounter, if you keep managing to crack monkey dash light attack him endlessly and dodge his attacks/glowing yellow grabs/counters, you can keep him from hitting you until the scene automatically passes into the next part. Similarly, if you play the one arm section well enough you can do it until it auto passes when he swings at you even when he doesn’t hit you.

I remember doing the fight with the senator hundreds of times cuz I kept getting hit close to the beginning and I knew that since I had no healing items that was a death sentence so I immediately restarted. That was the first time I ever enjoyed a super difficult battle.
