Can we link up brother via WhatsApp
I started to dj on my bedroom around the time u started to make theese videos. Then i kinda forgot about you. Now its my job, i play around 3 gigs a week on a recidency. Have played multiple times on big festivals around my county, travelled to other countrys to play. Met so many good people and have multiple projects going on. Seeing u upload this brings back so many memories of the countles hours Ive whatched u and practiced at home. Mr TLM thank you so much for everything. Along with the local dad DJ who took me under his wings, ur the otherone who made my career to this point. Much love!
That’s amazing! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
I can hardly believe my eyes! Would love to see this series finished. So good.

Im so old school, dude is talking but I could not stop looking at how dope that record collection looks behind him... lolz. Nothing beats that physical collection..
I get it bro😁 Yeah, it feels great to have them back in the studio
I'm dying for a flare or crab tutorial. You have one of the best series on CZcams for this I've seen. :)
This is so good - It's the only video that got me to perform this sometimes aka "Joe Cooley scratch". The way you broke it down and then had the viewer first just practice it without the crossfader, then add it back in was key!
The best scratch tutorial series I have seen so far - thanks!
This is the best break down explanation i've encountered. Thank You Sensi lol
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Big Up for DJ TLM. He does such a great work! I've learned so much of him. THANK YOU!

Really well explained. Good way to think. I was having a hard time fitting scribbles into a beat pattern.
Best Explanations on CZcams. Second, I give it to DJ Angelo.

Great Bro, Hi From Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico
Thank you boss
Nice way to explain it. Salute
👍🏾👍🏾
although I mix and prepare my mpc loops on serato since 2016 I started to learn scratch with an old scratch live vinyl (2006 I think) a few weeks ago with no teachings from my homie, know that I’ve watched this scratching about playlist I now have a better understanding about the basics of scratching. thank you.
great teacher!!
🙏🏽
Off da chain bruh. I've been doing chrips for so many years I lost count but every so often they don't sound as clean as they used to. This video is great for getting cats like me back to the basics to clean those chirps up. I think YOU and Jazzy Jeff are a couple of the best chirp scratchers I have ever heard mayne. Great video man...
Thanks bro👊🏾 Sometimes it’s good to return to the basics to make sure the foundation is solid💯
Why would fokes hate on these FREE DJ Lessons? One dj class cost to much and you pay for everything. Like software & the teachers time. DJ TLM has help me out a lot.
Glad I could help👍🏽
Damn, i love your videos & tuorials! And a middle finger goes up to all the haters for the thumps down!!!
Awesome.. Thank you
👍🏽
Nice
Thank you
👊🏾
Nice. I use this as well. Useful for quick scratch break without going Qbert on a crowd. :)
Indeed😄😄
Yesssss
👊🏾
Great tutorial! Thank you!! Even as an intermediate level scratcher, I sometimes have trouble opening with the fast baby. I don't know if I'm just not cueing on the right part of the sound, but when I try to go fast baby to slow baby, I usually screw it up. Slow to fast is no problem because I'm already in the movement. But this is going to help me out!
Man! Who else but D.j TLM?! The last of the best!!!
👊🏾
Very Helpful
I’m glad to hear that. Have fun practicing! 👍🏽
Good looking bro
I NEED YOU!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Dj discOworm San Fransisco
Darn, no more scratch tutorials? Big thx, you taught me all the scratches I now know: stabs, drops, military, tears, transformers, and chirps, but still haven’t learned scribbles.
I’ll probably do more in the future👍🏽
This was such a wonderful tutorial series! You are a great teacher! I would love if you did a “practice scratching” video, which includes all of the scratches from the previous seven lessons. A 30 minute video where we could follow along with you and practice everything from the baby scratch, drops, tears. , fades, military scratch, transformer, stab, chirp and scribble. Your tutorials are great, but you go to the next scratch quickly, so I need to pause the video to practice. And I really enjoy scratching at the same time as you.
Make sure you check out some of my Saturday Sessions beginner editions. Those are made to follow and repeat what I do. Look for the beginner editions because the other ones include a lot more advanced patterns
@@djTLMtv I’ll do that, thank you!
Thanks for braking it down and detailing it out so well . It took me so long to learn the chirp because I didn't understand it until now .also can you make a video on using scratches to Hype your mixes/dance floor up
That’s great! Yes, I’ll be doing something like that soon
Damn, i often end doing forward and back cuts, when i do the chirp scratch. But with practice...
I finnaly got the chirps ! Awesome
Now that was thorough, even more thorough than DJ Angelo. I could never get the chirp down as much as I wanted. But you just showed me what the piece I was missing. You ever worried that you share too much knowledge? LOL just kidding 😅 . Keep up the good work!
That’s dope! No, there’s no such thing as sharing too much (when it comes to DJ knowledge)👊🏾
Good video bro
Thanks!
Thanks for this. I always wonder if I should do fast baby scratches, scribbles or fast chirps to get this sound. Been doing the scribbles, but like you, I don't find it easy to start scribbles after doing chirps. Will practise doing the fast baby scratches to get the scribble sound.
It works well for me and the end result is the same👍🏽
This is the Joe Cooley scratch (combo).
So glad to see you're doing scratch tutorials again now that I'm learning how to scratch now. I practice everyday and I'm starting to finally see good results! The scratch I'm having difficulty with now is the flare crab scratch. I can do a very decent 3 finger closed scrab, but when it comes to adding the flare to it, or starting and ending with an open cross fader, man... it's really hard for me. Seems like I'll never get it. Any words of wisdom here will be appreciated. Thanks!
That’s a tricky one for me because I do my crab with the right hand on the fader, but my flare with the left hand on the fader. So a combo is currently not in my arsenal😁
I still have a lot of work to do when it comes to that
@@djTLMtv Wow. Your answer has helped me tremendously! I don't feel so bad now. I look up to you and wish I could scratch as well as you so to know that a person can be a great scratcher like you, without this one scratch is comforting... but I'm still gonna practice it though lol. I just love the way that flare crab sounds. I just gotta have it in my arsenal. Thanks bro! You're a huge inspiration to me.
glad to see the tutorials coming back.
what tension you using on the jogs? I use one below all the way Tight. Find any looser and my releases get pushed off beat a bit.
I think I had it set it to one of the lightest settings (almost all the way to the left). The heavy setting would still work for this scratch, but I just didn’t as comfortable using it in that setting
thanks for contributing so much to the scene !!!! No one explains it better. greetings from Mexico !!!!
I appreciate that bro🙏🏽
✊🏾
👊🏾
In Detroit we actually call the scribble scratch the Bobcat scratch( DJ Bobcat) or the Jack The Ripper scratch cause Bobcat really brought it to the light on LL Cool J's single "Jack The Ripper" Classic Hip-hop 💯
Classic indeed!
wow
@ 0:05 very similar to the Joe Cooley scratch
Joe Cooley is a different technique though. It’s a baby/tear combo and when you do it fast it sounds a lot like this. I think this is easier than the Joe Cooley
My teacher.
👊🏾
My tracher tan bien
Would love to get your review on the prime series :)
I’m working on more content with (and about) that gear👍🏽
What tracks would be good to start scratching or to learn
Cheers TLM been practicing that combo for a while can do both but when go in to the scribble after doing the chirp is ok but going from the scribble back to the chirp its off or if you get what i mean not getting the balance. But do like your beats to scratch alongside with as they can be nice and slow anf funky. Try n get some more practice in. Probably after have done few jobs for other half 1st mithering sods women are lol. Got paper work in office to sort out and a tension pully in dryer thats broke to fix and replace as always warranty ran out..
Yeah man, those jobs need to be done too😁
But I have that same issue when I do a traditional scribble and go back to a chirp. I have less control when I do that. When I perform the technique as a fast baby it’s so much easier to transition into the chirp because my hand is already doing the right movement
that was awesome....tutorial.. thank u. can u please do a tutorial on jocooley scratch technique?
Thanks and yes, I can do that👍🏽
DJ TLM TV really appreciate that.... keep uploading n sharing 💗👍
