@@douggardner8229 Their strengthening of ties with Asian Pacific and countries is looking to the future when supply chain issues will be avoided and China's role will be lessened. Bringing manufacturing back to the U.S. will prevent a lot of the problems we saw during Covid when we couldn't get chips for new cars and so they became prohibitively expensive as well as used vehicles. Those are smart strategies. What was Trump's strategy? Give permanent tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations so that the gap in income equality could grow.

Margaret, I'm not a physician, but letter me offer this view. The concept of viability, which is embedded in Roe v. Wade, is an evolving standard based upon, among other things, improvements in medical care. To say that a 14-week, six-day abortion is legal but a 15-week, one-day abortion is illegal is rather arbitrary IMO.

Please remember that life saving after care for miscarriage is a d&c, also known as an abortion. Without a d&c, necrotic tissue remains inside the mother's body, resulting in sepsis, infertility and worse. Pay attention to the lawsuit out of Texas concerning several women who endured such mistreatment. Of course men want access to abortion, for the safety of their wives and the mother of their children. Imagine driving your pregnant wife across state lines in a panic while she is in the middle of a miscarriage, because you know that your state will no longer allow her to be treated appropriately. And if she succumbs to sepsis, her other children will grow up without a mother. This already occurred in Poland after they augmented their "pro life" laws. Shameful. 💚💙💚

You and I watched/listened to different interviews, I guess. For example, Vice President Harris emphasized initiatives to help ensure that allies and partners that border the South China Sea aren't dominated or intimidated by the People's Republic of China. I'm not an expert in international diplomacy, but I think it's fair to say that much of the hard work gets done out of the public view.
The bar is pretty low for VP Harris. The answers to most of these questions are so clear. Practice, practice, practice.
She owned this interview and by any standards she responded to each question and they were designed to bet her. Kamala for whatever year it happens. She will show Putin and his repubs what time it is. 😊
Can't help but think that some people don't like Ms. Harris because she is a prosecutor and a strong woman of color. It's still a view of womanhood that too many people are uncomfortable with. These might be some of the same people who don't like Fani Willis in GA or Leticia James in NYS. Go Fani, go Leticia, go Kamala. ⚖️💙⚖️

If you listen very closely to our VP you would be able to tell that she has quite a grasp on many issues. Also, her body language is quite telling. She deliberately does not let on to the nuances of issues raised which is a trait of a highly intelligent person, particularly in her position.

Yes, and very conflicting. My mom's aide is from Niger and says people are in favor of the coup and the change -- anything is better than what they had. This is obviously not the view of everyone, so that makes for a really difficult situation.

Why does it seem like Americans don't have a problem with the US talking about "US best interests" in the China sea? There's no way the US would allow another country to dictate anything in the western hemisphere. How would we feel if China or Russia was meddling off the Atlantic Coast or in the Gulf of Mexico?

International waters. And yes, some massive fishing operations were working near our Atlantic and Pacific coasts in the past (maybe 1990s? Not sure) and arguably damaged fish stocks by over fishing the areas. However, if they were in international waters, there was nothing we could do.

This is a VERY IMPORTANT interview. The big elephant in the room & an unspoken reality regarding Joe Biden's age is front and center.

I have my impressions at this moment that includes my feelings regarding her strengths and frankly concerns.
She has my support & I will vote for Harris Biden with my focus being on HELPING THEM HELP ME & US rather than expecting them to be perfect.
When we vote for a President and Vice President we are voting for an ADMINISTRATION & TEAM. NOT one person at any age, race or gender.

You raised a great question, but it’s not her job to campaign for the presidency, it’s her job to advocate for Joe Biden. Go Kamala!!! Sticking to her positions (which often means in complex issues NOT setting out arbitrary decisions [the exact number of weeks, for instance]), not flip-flopping, not getting hysterical or “taking the bait” are excellent presidential qualities.
So not defining a policy clearly on abortion or her personal beliefs on the matter but simply dodging the question is an excellent quality? In order for her to stick to her position, she would need to know what it is first...instead of just repeating the lines that she was told to repeat. It's not called flip-flopping to stand firmly on what you believe - it's called being precise and clear...which she is anything but.
