Guinness advertising has been consistently iconic but this ad, directed by Jonathan Glazer, looked and sounded stunning on the big screen. From Leftfield's music and the 'Moby Dick' voiceover to the surfers battling Neptune's Horses, it's the perfect cinema ad.

My best memory of this classic advert was while watching Football Italia on Channel 4.
Soooo many years later and I still find myself saying "He waits. That's what he does." But no one gets it :(

Guinness drinkers do not surf; Guinness drinkers play darts. Guinness drinkers may consider it a manly drink, but they would. In their minds, their moobs are "pecs", and the roll of fat hanging over their belt is a "beer gut", which somehow distinguishes it from the fat gut of someone who lives like a slob, and gets out of breath getting out of bed in the morning.
Surfers drink anything BUT Guinness. Surfers drink whatever is fashionable for surfers to drink that week, whether they like the taste or not
