I also find it important to say that in Korean skincare, toners don't always have this classic role of ph balancing but more a hydrating one. Korean essences are often single ingredient focused and more for brightening or soothing and also hydrating purposes (on average). Texture-wise it can get confusing because there are essences that are super watery and toners that are much thicker (mainly because of HA or panthenol).

I just recently added in a Hydrating Essence from Roccoco Botanicals and was told to make sure I apply after I cleanse and pat. But I don't know how to use it with these products at night.

Love The Ordinary’s toner! I’ve also been trying out I’m From’s rice toner. It’s a nice toner, but I think it’s over hyped. I’m From’s mugwort essence is super nice though, I use it every day! I think I’ll be trying Laneige’s cream skin toner/moisturizer next spring/summer. Supposedly, it can be used as a toner and moisturizer after layering it up, so it sounds great for warmer seasons when I don’t want to put lots of products on my face.
I bought the Frudia Pomegranate and the Avocado toner thanks to your other video, and I love them so much! I probably wont buy the Avocado one again, but the Pomegranate one I am in love with. Every time I put it on I remember Rihanna saying "fat water" and feel so happy loll

I was using the green Frudia Essence/Toner and while it made my face feel really smooth and look hydrated, it caused small red spots and/or a few itchy patches of skin. Only two patches grew on it but, I did just start a Vitamin C serum and used it for two weeks so it could've been that too. I just really want to use the essence/toner but I think my skin doesn't like it.
I used a toner for very while and it did really helped my skin then a couple weeks ago i started to put toner first then a light essense after cleansing end with moisturizing and i saw a really big difference i feel more hydration my skin looks so calm and smooth even dark spots begin to dissappeared. Btw all of my products are korean brands cause it's very gentle on my skin since i have combination and sensitve skin.

Love both my toner and essence....both from Korea.....Seoul ceuticals essence and Purito centella green toner. I also use Krave beauty’s aha toner a few days a week to exfoliate.
i enjoy the Naturium Hyaluronic Essence and they just came out with Aloha Arbutin Essence as well. prior to this, i like the Elf Hydration Essence. seems pretty basic but i think it helped with my skin hydration as well. any others do y’all suggestion. Nothing to pricey tho.

Cassandra you should check out the treatment toners called essence/lotions and essence/toners. Clinique, Sisley, Whamisa have them. The supposedly fall between a toner and serum on the gooey side. Also, don't forget the emulsions and ampoules.

Hi! Even though I’m not Cassandra, I just wanted to say that those two things don’t contradict each other... In this video she also says how toners and essences aren’t necessary but nice use in order to achieve the ‘glass skin look’ or the impression of pore-less skin... Hope that helps:)

Do you have a favorite toner for eczema prone (or just dry/sensitive) skin? You mention the two you recommend for acne prone skin, but I was wondering if there is a toner you recommend for eczema prone skin. I'm 24 and do get some acne (pretty well controlled with birth control and prescription spot treatment for the few that still pop up), but my eczema is way worse so I always prefer to go for products more suited to my dry and sensitive skin and then spot treat any acne if needed. As someone working on a PH.D. in Genetics I freaking love your approach to skincare as a science. Thank you for the amazing content!
Love this one! I never used a toner before, it might be that I have a dry/sensitive skin and I don't want to experiment on my skin, but essence SKII is a dream! That was my first essence ever. I don't know what is in it, but my skin felt like on holidays in Maldives!💃👒🌴🍍🌅 Too bad it's a bit expensive, but if one product I would invest in in the future, would be that. 😌💁 Regards from Sweden!
The french brand Caudalie has the Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Essence , which has actually been out for a little while now. It's a little more on the watery side compared to other Essences , and actually contains glycolic acid . I believe they are vegan but not cruelty free though, unfortunately And the bodyshop also have a few i've tried . The the drops of light brightening essence, the oils of life revitalising bi-phase oil one , and i think it's now discontinued but i had their vitamin e aqua boost essence which was actually quite nice.

Do you have a favorite toner for eczema prone (or just dry/sensitive) skin?
You mention the two you recommend for acne prone skin, but I was wondering if there is a toner you recommend for eczema prone skin. I'm 24 and do get some acne (pretty well controlled with birth control and prescription spot treatment for the few that still pop up), but my eczema is way worse so I always prefer to go for products more suited to my dry and sensitive skin and then spot treat any acne if needed.

Love this one! I never used a toner before, it might be that I have a dry/sensitive skin and I don't want to experiment on my skin, but essence SKII is a dream! That was my first essence ever. I don't know what is in it, but my skin felt like on holidays in Maldives!💃👒🌴🍍🌅 Too bad it's a bit expensive, but if one product I would invest in in the future, would be that. 😌💁 Regards from Sweden!

Good question, it depends from your skin. I use them both but not everyday and with parsimony.
The french brand Caudalie has the Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Essence , which has actually been out for a little while now. It's a little more on the watery side compared to other Essences , and actually contains glycolic acid . I believe they are vegan but not cruelty free though, unfortunately
And the bodyshop also have a few i've tried . The the drops of light brightening essence, the oils of life revitalising bi-phase oil one , and i think it's now discontinued but i had their vitamin e aqua boost essence which was actually quite nice.
My veins are clear on my face, especially under my eyes. What is the solution? I have oily sensitive skin .
