  • Royal Enfield Himalayan BS4 Review.
I am surprised with what I expected and what this bike is able to deliver. I think its time for you guys to take a test ride of this new version of Himalayan, its quite better then some of the competitive bikes in India.
The Himalayan is an ‘all-rounder’ motorcycle built on an all new platform from Royal Enfield. It is a 411cc adventure motorcycle which was partly developed in the United Kingdom. The motorcycle brings a series of firsts for the brand.
In terms of styling, it goes by a purposeful design language. Minimalistic styling and no fancy curves and creases. The motorcycle comes in white or black with a neat Himalayan graphic running across the centre of the motorcycle. Recently, the ‘Sleet’ has been added to the range.
The Himalayan is powered by a 411cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 24.5bhp at 6500rpm and peak torque of 32Nm at 4000-4500rpm. This engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Talking about its braking, the Himalayan gets a 300mm single Bybre disc with twin-piston calliper in front and a 220mm disc with single-piston calliper at the rear. Present models of Himalayan has got Dual Channel ABS, but sadly no ABS off Switch though.

@@rakeshhazz20 bro Himalayan is meant for offroading and for off-road course spoke wheels makes more sense because of impact forces exerted on the wheels. Tubeless tyre needs a mag wheel which is not recommended for off road rides.

If you coming from north, first reach Siliguri which is gateway to North east, you can stay in Siliguri and go for Darjeeling/Sikkim route or you can take Siliguri -Kokrajhar- Bongaigaon - Guwahati thus entering Northeast...From Guwahati, you can go any seven states you want to go, some of the famous route for riders are Guwahati - Tezpur - Bomdila - Tawang, Guwahati - Shillong (Meghalaya) and from Shillong - Sonapur - Silchar, again from Silchar, you can take Silchar - Lailapur - Vairangte - Kolasib - Aizwal (Mizoram) or Silchar - Jiribam - Imphal (Manipur), or Silchar - Agartala (Tripura) or Silchar - Halflong - Nagaon - Guwahati, there are thousands of hidden route in north east...Roads are good if not the best, people are friendly, Petrol Pump and Mechanic easily available...Do visit and explore new routes...

The himalayan doesnt have vibration issues like othrr RE bikes. nap083node431 yes. As long as you get it serviced regularly it will be a reliable commuter. The only problem is the mileage is not good on my BS3 in a crawling heavy peak hour traffic. New BS4 should be better but not by a lot, i presume. It is a 400cc after all. This bike is a tourer and has an excellent mileage within the 50 - 80 km/h band.
