sang this at my first dance recital back in 1950 or thereabouts. My father had been part of a rapid precision tap act in Vaudeville for a couple of years and never lost the love for it. My love was mostly a result of it being my only connection with my father. Still, it beat the hell out of actually working and allowed me to live in New York, Paris and Rome. I never danced a step once I stopped being paid for it; my father danced at the drop of a hat his whole life.
