  • In this tutorial for Revit I will show how to get information about room height into schedule. It is not as straightforward as it might seem at the first sight, because Revit does now create room height parameter automatically. To achieve having room height in the room schedule, we have to add new calculated parameter, which calculates room height from room area and room volume parameters. I also show how to set up automatic room volume calculation in the tutorial. The room height can be limited by ceiling, roof or floor.
Revit is a Building Information Modelling (BIM) software.

Great trick! I saw that BIM Managers used to set a dynamo script that finds the room height. Your way is even simplier! Thank you!

I am glad it is helpful. It is also useful for Revit LT users, who can't use dynamo. I guess you could do more tricks in dynamo and maybe even somehow solve the problem of rooms with sloped or non uniform ceilings.
