- The extended test drive from Kochi to Goa a few days back made Bunny Punia make the right decision to purchase the all-new 2024 Mahindra Thar Roxx 5 Door. To know which engine, gearbox, and version he picked, watch this full video.
Bunny tries to cover various aspects including design, space, ride, performance, features, etc.
We have also covered the Thar Roxx 5 door vs Maruti Jimny comparison as well as the Thar Roxx 5 door vs Thar 3 Door comparison and the links are given below.

See other thar roxx video. But this is one of the best. Gave proper information ❤
Thank you so much 😀
Bhai tu to jimny bhi book kar raha tha ...khareedta koi nahi par 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Great way to explain the requirements of the average Joe Bunny ! (Not that you are the average Joe..:) The space on offer and the features have been very well brought out by you. However, I would like to correct Mansi.. The Jimny rear seats do offer a recline option. This is a sure winner for M&M, albeit at the altar of the 3 door. Keep them coming, Bunny !
Hi, i am confused between buying thar roxx or scorpio n. Pls guide through. I have to buy petrol vehicle.
1. Scorpio N Z4 PT MT
2. Thar roxx AX7L PT AT
I am confused for average of vehicle.
I have urban cruiser, any time its just good for 4 people for a comfortable journey, in that case Jimny is fine with just 4 seats.... its true for all 5 seater SUVs or cars unless you have extra wide bodied car...
Ax5l or ax7l diesel automatic 2wd are the best variants.
Petrol doesn't make sense being single digit mileage city 7kmpl max highway 11 kmpl max.
Diesel manual gearbox is notchy.
Hence diesel automatic 2wd makes the most sense
Make a compression video of Thar ROXX and Force Gurkha 5 door 🙂
Mr. Puniya good work, thanks for detailed insight.
When people are looking for better mileage with hybrid engines offering above 20Kmpl - Mahindra is offering single digit mileage 😎🫠😵💫🤮🥴
I had same thought...
And selling well too.. they are targeting a different section of the market
Livestyle vehical h ye
@@TheSgyro that section of the market is selling land and taking huge loans for a car. LOL.
Mahindra's target customers doesn't include your broke ars.
We don't invest in cars, rather spend on them
Hi - a small help. I have xuv 500 as my current family car which is nearing 10yrs. Confused on my next family car - XUV 700 or Thar Roxx ? We are a family of 4 adults ( incl parents) and a kid 13yrs. Thanks
Suggest Thar Rokk petrol AT or ScorpioN petrol AT
Which one is the best option & more comfortable family SUV??
Scorpio N might be more comfortable from suspension point of view says Bunny
I’m eyeing on 4x2 Manual diesel. Video on that please.
Unfortunately manual not in fleet. Lets see..
@@91Wheels i hope we get it soon on 91 wheels
if renault launches new Duster..... would it make a difference¿
Most definitely!!! 👌👌👌The new gen Duster is good !!!
I want to make up my mind to book Thar Roxx MX1 Petrol (as Mahindra SUVs are my Love) however, am making another mind to buy UC Hyrider G.. Confused.. should I save 2.4 to 3 L on purchase or will it be better to go woth the cheaper one with very less mileage as compared.. Please clarify..
Since you plan to use the car for city? Aren’t you concerned about the unsettled ride on low speeds? Will it be any better with 18 inch wheels?
Are u telling us we would get MX1 for 13 lakhs... First of all Mahindra will only produce the Top Variants...The MX1 when brought out will be more in 15+ bracket...Just like the Scorpio N...
Can you also tell us the reasons why you choose it over Scorpio-N ?
Nice and detaild presentation, one of the best THAR ROXX review.
Glad you liked it!
Hi is there difference when you drive 4*4 370nm vs 4*2 330nm diesel versions, does extra 40nm feels diffrent in real world as on paper??? Iam asking for Automatic version
The major reason I didn't buy xuv700 was its light interior colour (also poor suspension). I went for ScorpioN Petrol AT, and it was a correct decision for me.
I see 2-3 years old xuv700 all the time in service centre and their interior look absolutely rubbish now. Some grey/yellowish tint on the originally white inetior can be seen on almost all xuv700 which have done some miles. Same problem I see with Roxx as well. Mahindra should have experimented with some new shades of interiors like Thar Earth edition etc.
Oops! Thanks for giving us customer point of view experience
@@91Wheelsthey should offer other interior trim colors like how kia offers in seltos.
How does the brown one look to naked eyes? I am planning for the rwd ax7l. And how will you grade the 7 colours as per their road presence??
I would still suggest you to go with Scorpio N as family car as compared to ROXX.
Why didnt you go for xuv700, it will give much better ride quality on highway, more and practical storage spaces in doorpads as well, much better egress and ingress for you parents and since its a 7 seater, you, your daughters and parents all can travel together, and with all the discounts on Xuv700 you will definitely get a great deal.
Xuv also comes with all wheel drive, reasonable Offroading should be possible.
If you just want the rugged looks of thar and thats the deal maker for your, then it's different story.
Bahutee badiyoo decision se bhayaa...gazab gaddi banae diyo Mahindra team ne re wahh
Hi, how was the green colour looking in person on Thar?
Is the rear seat comfortable like Scorpio N? with this new Mglyd frame
Congrats Ji 🎉🎉
Great choice. Congraturoxx 🤘🏻

@@Honey_202 petrol par 8-9 &
Diesel par 11-12 ki mileage milegi
Wo bhi 20lac spent karke.
Base model abhi 1 saal tak kisi ko deliver hi na honge.
RWD is enough for mild off-road everywhere
Where in Goa was the location? I'm too planning to go with my new thar ROXX for some photo shoots when I get one
Google for vagator hill point
mileage is in single digit or double digit ?
Petrol single
Diesel 12-13
Petrol under 7 kmpl
Petrol, in town, will be 8-9. Diesel much better at 10-11
You mean Auto or Manual
@@91Wheelsdiesel is 1 lakh expensive as well plus 15 year registration benefit, silent cabin, no vibrations and less maintenance for petrol
What happens to that sunroof if on an adventure trip that car topples; how will it impact the people inside?
Since you mentioned longevity-brands from which country are known for longevity while quality is maintained? 🙂
As I see it, Mahindra's design philosophy seems to be populist sentiment driven sales as opposed to detailed and deep thinking with a ruler and measurement instruments and practical fit with long-lasting quality driven sales. Details and accuracy is a big Japanese cultural value system which, in my perspective, is seen in their design philosophy as well.
My dad's Maruti Omni is 40 years old (and still street-legal, RTO certified).
Even if roxx petrol is 100kgs less than scorpio n.. it shud help it get better mileage than the scorpio. May be 10-14kmpl.
It all depends on the weight coz engine/transmission is the same.
I currently own a XL6 in blue and an spresso in red colour. I cancelled booking of thar and I am planning to book Thar Roxx. How is this green color in real life? Any suggestions if this will not disappoint me if I replace the XL6?
This shade of green looks good in real life. As compared to XL6, you will get far better performance, stability, safety, features. However, this is a 2 row vehicle vs 3 row for the XL6. Bunny too has the XL6 by the way
7:41 If I may, here's what I have learnt as an amateur, so far: the bootspace in every vehichle is first limited by payload capacity of the vehichle in kg. The volume in litres is also important, but only after payload capacity.
For example, with 5 people and their luggage for a week, does the Thar Roxx stay within payload capacity? If not, then you can take 3 or 4 people only with 1 week of luggage. And that will mean that you have space for storage in 1 or 2 seats in the back row.
The reason for looking at the payload capacities is safety.
Then there's the matter of maximum weight allowed per axle by percentage of payload capacity-does the filled boot meet those requirements of the back axle? If not, you have re-balance luggage between back axle and front axle, meaning you have to move luggage to the front.
Simple technical parameters and measures such as this matters in evaluating, it makes it objective and safer.
When I tried looking up the payload capacity of another Mahindra, I think it was the Bolero Neo, all I got online was instructions to check with the showroom or workshop. I found this discouraging. I could easily find this data for any Suzukis when I searched for it.
We have two of the 5-door Jimnys, and I didn't fit a roof-rack on it for this same reason-the roof payload capacity (I think while the car is driven) is only 30 kg (including the weight of the rack), while the total payload capacity of the car, including whatever is on the roof and all after-market fitments is 335 kg. It is easy to hit 335 kg with two people like you and me (I am 183.5 cm tall and weigh 111 kg, clinically obese) and two small 50 to 60 kg people with perhaps upto 15 kg of luggage including all after market fitments. So, a roof rack only makes sense if you want to carry something like a bicycle, or dirty or soiled or smelly items outside the cabin, on the roof.
Unfortunately, no one I have seen from India is discussing this adequately.
And don't get me started on modificaitons! So far, I have found only one Australian channel who actually gets his modified cars re-certified by the authorities with a fresh specifications plate with new capacities riveted to the body, including to a Jimny in one of his videos, in order to make it road-legal. I haven't seen this in India and that's sad.
Also, I was talking to Nexa last week-they did confirm what the manual says, that upsizing the tyres negatively impacts the dynamics and movement of the vehichle in many ways for very little benefit, and they get vehichle with complaints.
team BHP?
@@trippyturns are you asking if I am a member there? No, I am not.
Can you do a comparison with scorpio N ?
Sir i am planning tharr rocks mera monthly running maximum 800kms hai
Can i consider petrol automatic and what would be its mileage
Hi Dupesh. Petrol AT is a great unit, however, it can surprise you with low figures in traffic. In a city like Delhi, in urban conditions, you will get 8-10kmpl. The same rises to 12-13 at highway speeds. Do keep this in mind!
Yes tick all the right boxes but what about the buyers having and budget of base model having concerned about mileage ?
Base manual diesel should be good for 12-13 kmpl in flowing traffic and 15-16 kmpl at 90 km/h highway speeds
Petrol mileage kitni hogi
ko zhi ko de…. an emotion

Waiting for 4x4 prices to make a final decision
Automatic petrol rwd mileage pls .
Which variant are you booking? Which would be the most value for money?
Still waiting for 4x4 prices to make a final decision
Why not the xuv700 awd then? 🤔
From Bunny
1) Price factor (Roxx 4x4 available in lower versions)
2) Roxx is a BIGGER head turner
3) Need higher ground clearance
@@91Wheels hmm... Valid points 👍
Great review 👏
Thank you!
The only setback for me is the white interior color.😢
True - Bunny too feels the same. But mahindra says wet cloth works well to clean the seats atleast
Sir which one are u going with - RWD or 4WD?
True. And we have a German Shepherd boy who sheds like crazy, so it's gonna be a nightmare to clean after long trips 🙂
No 4*2 pls. 4*4 D AT Ax7L is the one.
Jimmy with even the price cut is not a practical car.Its just too small .Almost like its made for kids.It can only be your second toy and that too mainly for off road use. There is no comparison.
will this platform carried forward to scorpio N?

I am thinking to replace my innova crysta 2017, 2.4 ltr , manual model with Thar roxx...need your suggestion. Should I. My usage are mostly on highways.
Why !!! Crysta is a Great Car !!!!
Every youtuber including you is trying to sell 4*2 and saying it's very well prices but top model 4x4 is coming at whopping 27lac on road approx ,at this range you can buy jeep compass 😮
Jeep Compass 4x4 is 32 lakh ex-showroonm.

Thar vs Jimny == Car vs Cannister
Its on the costlier side anyhow. And Mahindra wants to Capitalize soon after its served.

Awesome 👍
How do you book the thar roxx
