  • This video shows how to follow up a significant interaction in a mixed ANOVA in SPSS.

    As I already mentioned in my video for the mixed ANOVA itself ( • Mixed ANOVA in SPSS - ... ), the main effects in the mixed ANOVA output are not to be interpreted when you can observe an interaction of your between-subject and within-subject factor. You just found out that they depend on eachother and should therefore not be interpreted seperately.
    What needs to be calculated now are estimated marginal means, meaning pairwise comparisons. This helps in determining whether 1) the groups differ at any point in time and 2) at which points in time the individual groups differ.
