Who were Ghika, Craxton and Leigh Fermor?

  • Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika, John Craxton and Sir Patrick Leigh Fermor were significant cultural figures of the 20th century. The three first met at the end of the Second World War, becoming lifelong friends and spending much of their subsequent lives in Greece. The time they spent together and their close bonds would shape each other’s work for the rest of their lives.

    I saw the exhibition in Benaki museum in Athens it was simple and great in reminding us when Greece was a magical untouched place Fermors house in Kardamyli is worth visiting its an inspiring place

    what music is playing in the background?
    it reminds me of a theme i heard once before, but slightly different.
    edit: reminiscent of "bygone days" from porco rosso
    (a movie about an airplane pilot protecting private transport in the mediterranean from airplane pirates. also he's a pig)
