Wow! This is one of the only few videos I've seen here that shows how to cut a classic haircut like James Dean's! This looks more like his haircut than any other CZcams video I've ever seen! Not cut with a clipper, not too short but not too long on top, blonde color is what I think his hair looked like (many sources say his hair was dirty-blonde.) Very good video. I will use this for my haircuts from now on.... I just need to grow out where I shaved it too short in the back middle section. Very nice taper at the nape! Looks classic, timeless and cool, like James Dean!

Very talented as some Barbers don't realise how difficult it is to cut hair with the open razor there are so many different ways to use the open razor I use alot in my haircuts as gives a great finish to the haircut great job love the channel 👍

Can someone explain the difference when using a straight edge razor and a safety razor ? I'm trying to use the razor since watching these videos but unsure if there is a difference between the two ? Do they both have the same effect. Thanks
If your talking about a razor with a guard. It would do the same, just take longer. About like the difference in a regular shear and a thinning shear. The main thing with a razor is angle. The closer you get to 90 degrees the less hair it removes. So when you see him grab a section and he starts halfway, he angles the razor more towards straight up to thin it. Then he increases the angle toward the end when he gets to the desired length he wants. When thinning it’s not 90 degrees, have to find the sweet spot. Straight up 90 would be like scrapping the hair. You can start increasing your angle and see it start to remove some of the bulk. Pretty light on the touch too.

liliana obando there are none, he ALWAYS uses razor. I think it’s a bit overkill in my opinion but to each their own
It allows him to achieve a different texture and also thin and cut length all in one motion. Razor is awesome for messy look.

he need to trash the razer.. to time consuming and you have to go back over with scissors to make sure its all even
Too time consuming? He razor cut and checked it with scissors all in under 13 minutes. It wasn’t as good as I can do with a clipper and scissors but hey, it takes me twice that amount of time and I can only use one hand. 😩
