There are a few ways to preserve egg, this is one of the method. I believe what you are looking for is salted preserved egg. It basically involves only salt and mud in making it, and I've done some with only saturated salt water. You could try and have a look around CZcams.

I love to eat porridge with process duck eggs with some pork and green onions. One of my favorite foods. It’s amazing how process duck eggs could creat artistic linings around the black eggs after processed. Looks like creative drawing of sorts on the eggs.
