    Totally awesome review. I have one based on your guidance. I measured the temperature of the top of the oven after heating the oven to 450 f and the temp was 178 f. I found that a quarter size cookie sheet fits with plenty of room. Good tip on using the foil on the clean out tray.

      @dianeschuller Hi what's your view of the oven now ? :)

    • @dianeschuller
      @dianeschuller Před rokem +3

      @@ltandkholbrook9555 I'm really glad I decided to pay more for this quality of counter oven. We use ours nearly every day. No issues at all. As soon as I got it, I bought a quarter sheet so I would be able to roast vegetables and fill the entire space. We even use the oven for heating up leftovers (we don't like microwaves). We reheat in it; bake muffins and cookies; roast; etc. I even use it to keep things warm when we're entertaining. All functions work well and it's much easier to clean than the old one we had.
      Even when I first got it, it was obvious how much better made the Wolf is compared to other counter ovens. Much sturdier, thicker walls, excellent slide out grates/racks, plus the other items that came with it. I've had no issues with temperature, convection, dial use, or any of the functions. Oh and something else, it preheats very quickly! Must be because of how well insulated it is, I suppose. So, all in all, I wish I had bought one years ago.

    Thanks so much for this video Shani! I had just received it 2 weeks and Im so happy I bought it but, as you mentioned, there's no information on how to get the most of it. The pamphlet that comes with it, lacks of specific information.

    I have been struggling with the "probe" mode!

      Williams Sonoma carries a full line of quarter sheet baking pans that I use regularly in my Wolf countertop oven. I do bake in it regularly. I have baked croissants, scones, biscuits, Madeleine’s, cupcakes cookies etc... you get the idea. I have a single wall oven so when baking larger quantities it’s nice to have the option of a second oven. Most of the time this counter top size is the perfect amount for us (family of four). We like freshly baked items. We regularly roast vegetables, Ham, chicken over vegetables. It’s nice not to heat up the kitchen as mush as the bigger wall oven. It makes Great homemade Pizza too! I hope you are enjoying yours as much as we have been enjoying ours. Happy Baking.

    Has anyone ever gotten one of these repaired? I've read many reviews that state the oven is disposable, as there are no parts available. Yes I understand there is a five year warranty, but the idea of a $750 USD appliance that cannot be repaired is so wasteful!

    Great video. Excellent information. Well done. Your video helped me to make a final decision. I just purchased it. Waiting for it to be delivered. There was special limited pricing of $599.99 sale price with William Sonoma. Regular price was $749.99. It was a hard decision. I was deciding between the Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro which is $499.95 and the Wolf Gourmet. I think both ovens are great but with the price drop and the integrated thermometer it made my decision easier. The Breville seems to have more functions tho. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks for the review. Looks like it was made for standard quarter sheet pans. You should be able to pick them up at any restaurant supply store. What are your thoughts on the convection feature? Does it give you air fryer-like results?

    • @shanicochrane5040
      @shanicochrane5040  Před 3 lety +1

      I would say no regarding the air fryer mode. Air fryers are pretty specialized to do the crisp thing well. I say it works exactly like a convection oven of a regular size. I also would not want to turn the fan on when cooking especially greasy foods as it will blow all over the stove making it gross to clean. Hope this helps!

    • @sammy7237
      @sammy7237 Před 3 lety +6

      @represto I’ve never used an air fryer, but, I can tell you that, in convection mode, this Wolf makes leftover pizza taste like it just came out of the pizza oven. It also takes day(s)-old egg rolls, spring rolls, crab Rangoon, etc., from rubbery to just as crisp and delicious as it was originally. So if that’s what an air fryer does, then I’d say this absolutely gives air fryer-like results. Oh, and regarding its capacity: Yes, standard, quarter-sheet pans do fit perfectly in it.

    I’ve had my eye on this oven for a while. The size is perfect when cooking for one or two people. I hate wasting energy with the big oven, and most of all, I really want to avoid all that extra heat in the kitchen during summer months. Finding this in 2023, I looked at best buy Canada and it is a thousand bucks. One would think this model would have gone down in price. Seems like a lot of money for such a small convection fan in a side. The build quality looks good. A good overview and review.

    I ordered it and used it for the first time to bake a dozen veggie pizza. I’m trying to learn the features with Simple it’s first before going all out . My first mistake was preheating the the oven while I had the frozen pizza in. But I used it to my advantage as a way of baking it. Next time I will preheat before putting my meals in.
    What I can’t figure out is the timer . Before , during and even after my timer in bake mode was reading 4min only as the max timer . I can’t figure out how to set the timer higher like 10 min for the pizza . The other thing is the side rack tray holders . I can’t seem to get the side racks in the back slots .
    Maybe I confusing what I thought is 4min is probably actually 4 hours .

    Can the knobs be pulled off? I ordered the Wolf Coffee System with the stainless knobs. If I find I'd rather have the red knobs I was just wondering if I could pull the knobs off and switch it out. I know Wolf is known for their red knobs, just not sure if I wanted that color in my kitchen. One more question....what temperature do you do for a chicken breast? Sorry I have one more question......since it's a convention oven, do you lessen the time for cooking? If so how much do you decrease the time? Thanks! Love your video, very informative!

    So the vents are on the right (if you’re facing it)? I was hoping to put it against a wall that’s on the right (as opposed to a wall on the left, like you have). You have a wooden cutting board between the oven and the wall but I take it that the vents are only on one side so I couldn’t put it up against a wall (on the dial side… if that makes sense :/

A quarter sheet pan works but basically only does six cookies at a time. Also, manual says NOT to line with foil as that can cause overheating.

And prob on sale for around 599 (be suspicious if you see 599 for advertised “Elite” version and see only one oven rack/no interior light button on bottom right , no bagel option. Amazing that you paid 599! You lucked out!! The department store near me is confusing the older model with newer and advertising the old model as Elite for 599. I don’t think the store personnel realizes they can lose big on this distinction oversight.

      @@shanicochrane5040 Breville can do it. This one can't do it. Why is it more expensive? I can value computer parts why some stuff are more expensive than others, but for the ovens I need help. Is it because the build quality rather than the functions?

      @@Jeremy-su3xyThe Wolf is 10 lbs more heavy because it has thicker metal. The Wolf finish is also better. The Breville has a microchip and is much smarter. The Wolf by what I can tell will not turn off when the cooking timer is done. Hope that helps.

    I called Wolf today with regards to the oven having the ability to turn off itself after the timer is finished. The answer is it cannot turn off, even after using as a toaster. For me that is a game changer. I actually purchased both the Wolf and Breville. I will return the wolf for this one feature missing. If the Wolf had the 'brains' of the Breville it would be rock solid and would be the very best on the market. I do love the Wolf quality, 5 year warranty, and the meat probe is awesome... but even after the meat probe hits it temp by what I was told, it will not turn off, so one has to monitor the oven at all times. I also asked if they knew of Wolf coming out with any new oven and they did not know. A shame.

      Are you lazy or worried that you'll leave it on and leave the house? You can learn to shut the thing off when you're done with it like a normal cook would for the former and pick up a smart plug for the latter.
