My problem with the suburbia planet is that it looks too much like how we live on earth. I'm not creative enough to know how to do it well, but there has to be some way to make a suburb style setting in Star Wars that feels more connected to that universe and less connected to ours. But if the show is good, the suburb looking too much like earth is just a minor gripe

I think Jod will be the twist villain. He'll initially appear as a helpful paternal figure to the kids (possibly even lying about being a Jedi since that one kid assumed that's what he was). But eventually it'll be revealed he's either been using them for his own means or he's possibly a servant of the Imperial Remnant hunting for Force-sensitive children or something like that.
I really hope we don't skip past the reunion between Zeb and Ezra. Im going to hope that the Mando movie takes place concurrently with Ahsoka S1 so hopefully we still get to see them meet up in season 2.
im optimistic for Skeleton Crew but i noticed it heavily violates one of George Lucas' rules of not using anything that resembles real life (suburbs, city buildings etc)

We ought to remember that Disney started by using readymade folk and fairy tales, mostly from the Brothers Grimm. Pinocchio came from an Italian writer, the Lion King from Japan as well as Hamlet. They were never really that creative regarding stories. But they did have high quality of adaptation.

Might check Skeleton Crew depending on reviews. knock off some Pixar and Marvel stuff as well. I cannot convey how absurdly short-sighted I think Disney was by tripling my subscription price over the course of one annual pay cycle. I dropped that shit cold. We went to Give the Kids the World Village in 2014 for a week and went to Disney World thanks to Make A Wish. My daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer and she got to see Mickey before she passed away.
Tbh I really want to know what planet the kids from skeleton crew are meant to be from. I’m guessing mid or inner rim? Though I could see it being a core world (I mean we can’t expect everyone over there to live in luxury)
Skeleton Crew sounds like it could slip in a reference or two from Galaxy of Fear, which was 2 kids traveling the galaxy on adventures but with a Goosebumps-style of writing. Can't wait to see Glup Shitto who I thought I saw in the background.
I loved Captain Eo. I watched it several times back to back before my brother protested and we went to do something else. Honest to goodness, I have a stuffed animal of that very creature in the cage. It was odd seeing it in the trailer.

The Lego 'Rebuild the Galaxy' looked fun, but I've looked the Freemaker series anyway. The suburbia scene in the trailer for Skeleton Crew didn't bother me because I always figured there would be someplace in the galaxy like that. I get a bit tired of the crammed city environment or the perfect Utopia like worlds like Alderaan. Lothal always needed to be more fleshed out, in my opinion, and a very 1980s Earth style world for some crazy reason doesn't bother me at all. Maybe it's just a reaction from the nightmare that was The Acolyte, but (and I'm almost embarrassed to admit it) but I was rather pleased to see the Skeleton Crew trailer and it's Goonies/Stranger Thing/ everything 1980s vibe. If it is non controversial and doesn't try to push some modern Earth agenda and instead give use some adventure and a good story (even if it is a bit for kids) I think I'm alright with that.
1:08 Honestly, I kind of like it. In the *Star Wars* universe, we're usually on some war-torn planet, hiding out in a bunker, or in a bustling city planet similar Coruscant. But wouldn't there be a middle ground? A place where the middle class lives? So, yeah, I can totally see it. There would likely be a suburbia-like area in the *Star Wars* universe. It makes sense that not everyone would live in extreme conditions; some would have more everyday, suburban lives.
Like they said, there are no doubt planets with "suburban" looking neighborhoods and homes. They just felt like this leaned too hard into a modern aesthetic and didn't look enough like a Star Wars version of it.

Lucas went out of his way to make Star Wars seem old fashioned, classical music, there’s slavery (droids and then literally with Anakin), there are monarchs and tyrannical rulers, war lords etc. It’s another massive fuckup. This shit is just going to replicate and widen, so now they can do their rom com. But what the fuck has any of this to do with a WAR in the galaxy, far, far away?

Hey Thor, I've been recently looking at the Lego Star Wars rebuild the galaxy trailer when I realized a problem with modern Star Wars. There aren't enough new cool spaceships and vehicles that you would want as toys. I own a big Lego AT-TE and I am still saving up for a Lego Republic Gunship. During the Prequels and original Triology there were so many cool vehicles, droids and spaceships. But during the Disney era there weren't many new cool designs. On the top of my head I can only think of the Razor crest and the Marauder. Disney should have a toy-designer in there design teams. The fact that Lego is using 'rebuild the galaxy' as a way of creating new designs and new Set gimmicks because they don't get enough from base disney Star Wars is kinda sad. What do you think?

I think 9 episodes, 3 per story act, would be great… and if they want to hook us with the premiere, they should just made the first episode longer than 25 minutes, rather than dropping two or three the first day 😑

Beaver's as an animal aren't particularly popular, but do fit that mascot purpose for marketing trends without being a direct copy like a mouse, Capybara, or Platypus. Unless the tie is the industrious nature of a beaver it is a very odd choice for a mascot character without other weird origins.

You want to do a city, fine, but to just put homes and lawns and have the freaking street lights the exact same shape as ours, come on. Rebuild the Galaxy looks very interesting, especially the Darth Jar Jar episode. I'm definitely gonna watch this. Skeleton Crew doesn't look interesting to me at all. Its not for me anyways and I'm not a fan of shows that focus on children as the main characters anyways. I guess I find kids annoying when they're the main characters or something. Besides that, the suburbs shown in the teaser look too much what I imagine the suburbs would look like in the near future. It doesn't look like Star Wars. Looks closer to Back to the Future 2 or something. I do admit that I always wanted to see what the suburbs would look like in the Star Wars universe and I guess I now know. 🤣 Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm sick and tired of always seeing cantinas and crap in Star Wars. So seeing the suburbs is refreshing but again, it looks like Back to the Future 2.
As much as some of the setting don't feel like SW at all, I can see the campy feel of this show that I felt from E.T., and how kids would love this trailer. We gotta understand that kids had shows in the past were overlooked by adults but I feel like the settings of a suburban environment, possible planet, are too close to home for being in a galaxy far, far away

It's hard to tell because of the video quality but I think Grogu has actually grown a bit. Really hope he finally starts talking sooner than later. The cute baby thing kinda needs to stop at some point.

I just can’t with the American suburbs planet, that’s as lazy as it gets. You want to do a city, fine, but to just put homes and lawns and have the freaking street lights the exact same shape as ours, come on. I get they’re going for Stranger Things, ET, Goonies, etc, but that’s just lazy and cheesy as hell, this is supposed to be a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Lucas and the people he surrounded himself with are the only ones that had any real vision and creativity good lord.

Rebuild the Galaxy looks very interesting, especially the Darth Jar Jar episode. I'm definitely gonna watch this.
Skeleton Crew doesn't look interesting to me at all. Its not for me anyways and I'm not a fan of shows that focus on children as the main characters anyways. I guess I find kids annoying when they're the main characters or something. Besides that, the suburbs shown in the teaser look too much what I imagine the suburbs would look like in the near future. It doesn't look like Star Wars. Looks closer to Back to the Future 2 or something.
I do admit that I always wanted to see what the suburbs would look like in the Star Wars universe and I guess I now know. 🤣
Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm sick and tired of always seeing cantinas and crap in Star Wars. So seeing the suburbs is refreshing but again, it looks like Back to the Future 2.
I'm hyped for andor season 2
As much as some of the setting don't feel like SW at all, I can see the campy feel of this show that I felt from E.T., and how kids would love this trailer. We gotta understand that kids had shows in the past were overlooked by adults but I feel like the settings of a suburban environment, possible planet, are too close to home for being in a galaxy far, far away
80s nostalgia means nothing for the children of today... so what's the point? I only care about Andor... The Mando movie makes no sense for me, they didn't prepare any story for it.
I lost interest in Mando, Skeleton crew looks high quality, but Andor is all I care about.
It's hard to tell because of the video quality but I think Grogu has actually grown a bit. Really hope he finally starts talking sooner than later. The cute baby thing kinda needs to stop at some point.

Lucas went to great lengths to ensure star wars never felt toooo much like earth, avoiding even things like shirt buttons and glasses. Makes it a little jarring to see a planet so similar to earth
