  • The Islanders and Hurricanes opened the Stanley Cup Playoffs of the 2023-24 season for Game 1 in Raleigh, NC. It was a tight-checked defensive game which saw the Isles and Canes locked at 1 goal for most of the tilt until Stefan Noesen banged home a rebound for the Hurricanes lead from which the Islanders could not recover. Frederik Andersen made 33 saves including an incredible highlight save on Noah Dobson to keep the one goal lead for Carolina. The New York Islanders look to even the series in Game 2 on Monday in Raleigh.
