It was hard watching Herbert playing for the falcons. Herbert was the first QB I remember .he had just came in from the usfl. He never had a really good offense. They never gave him weapons he had ....Eric Martin ...who was slow...and Bret Perriman ..who dropped more then 1/2 the throws. Those were our best receivers back then lol I feel bad for Bobby on that. But he did have the best def on our team. He was overshadowed by Joe Montana and the 49ers. People think our worse rival was the falcons but they are wrong. It was the 49ers and Rams ...yeah

What's funny though, if you go back and look at the scores of the games, they scored points, but many times the defense blew the game at then end. Everyone loved those defenses, but they lost games inside 2 minutes a bunch of times.

I recognize the two voices calling this 9/12/1993 contest. Mike Emrick on play by play who is now much more known for calling NHL games (I seem to remember him on the NHL on NBC) plus Hank Stram doing color work, this would be Hank's last year doing analyst work on TV before focusing more on the Monday Night Football radio duties with Jack Buck (through 1997).

I went looking in the comments to see if anyone else recognized Emrick's voice! Lol. I thought I was hearing things!

@@pwrofrob I don't think Mike did a lot of NFL games for CBS, this was the only time I remember him doing so

and I'm going to pretend I wasn't lmao But I did forget Hebert was once a dirty bird. Also our beloved kicker Anderson too eventually became a dirty bird traitor iirc

No he wasn't. His stats were just under Joe Montana and he had winning seasons with the Saints. He was also 19-0 vs AFC teams from 87 -93

Bobby didn't start this game. He came in for Chris Miller and started the rest of the year making the pro bowl
