    I had the Mazda 6 wagon 2016 version. 2.2 diesel with awd AT with the color Snowflake white pearl. Top specced and in Sweden its called Optimum package. I really enjoy that car but when I tried the 2017 version, I fell in love instant. So I traded my car in for the 2017 version. I took the Soul red met paint now. Same spec and engine and everything. 2.2 diesel with awd. I thought the improvement of the car made huge different between 2016 and 2017. I heard that 2018 version gonna get even more improvements so gonna be fun to see if I get the 2018 when it comes :)
    The biggest different was the sound from the wind and when playing high music. The doors couldnt handle it in 2016 version. The car moves better in cruise control in the 2017 version thanks to the new camera infront. Auto side mirrors now and also heated steering wheel which is so nice in Sweden. For me it was almost like driving a new car. I love the 2017 version.
    Great video and very good job. 5/5 stars.

    Thanks Thomas! They didn't change all that much, but the things they updated all seem to be successful improvements. And it's still a beautiful elegant car with a very nice interior. Especially the light interior appeals to me. Unfortunately I rarely see them, they don't sell many of these over here..

    A nice and detailed review as always, thanks Autogefühl! :) The Mazda 6 is one of the most beautiful cars of the segment, I really like the design of both the sadan and the station wagon. The white interior is neat (I wonder, however, how it will look in 6 months...). And it's great what they did with the petrol engine - no downsizing, no turbo, just pure and sophisticated engineering. Beautiful.
    However, regarding the infotainment and some other features like e.g. an electronic hatch, the competitors offer a bit more. Still, the Mazda 6 will be on my list when leasing a new car is due.

    I want to like the estate, but the saloon is just so much better looking. With that chrome on the back, it looks so good. If they just made the saloon a hatchback opening like the Model S, it would be practical too.

    • @satnitcboy
      @satnitcboy Před 7 lety

      I'd like to see the wagon available in the US. But since the 6 is - inexplicably - not selling in big numbers here, introduction of an even smaller-selling wagon is not happening. SO - a 6 hatch would be welcome. IMO any sedan is boosted in practicality by the fifth door.

    I got a 2019 Mazda 6 wagon 2.5. it’s a very nice car, but it’s true that it’s not a very sporty car as expected. there’s no noise isolation issue though unless you rev it up too high rpm. overall a very good one, with better driving position, quick car, good trunk space, luxury interior and safe. (the head up display is now on the windscreen, rather than the plastic glass..)

    Best design in the segment especially the front. I don't mind a naturally aspirated engine but my preference goes first to a turbocharged one because peak torque always comes at a low RPM

    • @Luke-san
      @Luke-san Před 7 lety +1

      Until the turbo blows and you have 1500 euro worth of costs (in my case luckily leasing). Happened 2 times in the last 10 years in my case. I was surprised that these engines get this kind of performance and real life fuel economy and actually have a sporty excellent sound when going into higher revs. It doesn't seem like a forced cry that makes you want to up-shift as fast as possible. So for me they seem to have found a nice mix of family car and boy racer. It has enough torque below to go with the flow and be quiet and the fun to hammer it a bit. I would buy it within a heartbeat if taxes weren't that high here.

      they are not the same trim level. the wagon is a mid-trim , while the sedan is a top-trip vehicle (different names for those in the US and in Europe). Very very nice and convenient car. I think it's a very engineered car and Mazda has continued the first version of this M6 Mk3 introducing updates where customers complained as isolation for example and interior design that in my opinion it's perfect. Engines are unics in the segment. Diesel and petrol offers a special experience arriving up to 5250 rpm with usseful power in case of biturbo diésel... And the petrol engine it's perfect. Offers elasticity, good sound, power and the best fuel consumption in the category. It's a pity Mazda doesn't offer awd system with 2.5 petrol engine. Should be my perfect desired car. Never mind. The diesel works very versatile well... They must think. And are in the truth. But many customers, seen the excellent and Real fuel economy of the petrol 2.5 engine would like the possibility of choosing between diesel or petrol. As in fact happens with the Mzd Cx5

    • @todortodorov766
      @todortodorov766 Před 7 lety

      couldn't agree more!!! And wouldn't you love it if there was also an option for a 6-cylinder petrol engine, naturally aspirated of course, with say... around 250hp :D haha ... I would choose that one right away, knowing how well the 2.5 petrol one currently is (I drive it every day, even just for fun), I could only imagine what it would be...

  • @demio22
    @demio22 Před 6 lety

    Like the cars looks so much, my second favourite care after the Giulia. For a japanese car the interior has a distinct premium look ... maybe like Lexus or Acura. E.g. the artificial leather attachments on the Dashboard and the seats tracks with perforated leather are very very neat! But I think the 6 Gear Transmission is a litte bit outdated. It's also solwer than the manual transmisson. Would prefer a 8-Gear transmission like the ZF one in the Alfa Romeo Giulia and an additional variant of the 2.2L Diesel with about 210 to 240 PS and and replace the 2.4 Petrol with a 2.0L Turbo which could ranging 220-300 PS. Also they could also add a virtual cockpit and remove in return this silly attached display in the center of the dash, would be perfect!

  • @StephenButlerOne
    @StephenButlerOne Před 6 lety

    I'm a big estate fan, however on the 6 i prefer the the exterior of the sedan. The sedan would be perfect if a hatch back, not a fan of the small sedan boot opening.

    Such a good car, it's a shame that they don't do normal sound insulation. The noise coming from the tyres is annoying and wind noise is also there, at lower speeds then with competitors. And I really hate this since Mazda looks better, handles better and has any other comfort parameter higher or at the same level as competitors except for the interior noise.

    Toller Bericht. Kurze Frage, ich konfiguriere mir gerade den Mazda6 Limousine mit der höchsten Ausstattung, Sport 175 PS Diesel Automatik . Mein jetziger Opel Insignia Limousine 2016 Sport 170 Ps Diesel Automatik muss im März 2018 abgegeben werden. Nun kommt der Mazda in Frage, aber lohnt es sich ihn jetzt schon zu bestellen, oder habt ihr eine Info ob Anfang 2018 ein neuer Mazda6 erscheint? Wenn ja, mit neuem Design?

      +GF danke! Es kommt wohl ein Facelift mit kühlergrill, frontleuchten und leichten interior updates. Und der 2.5 Benziner bekommt zylinderabschaltung ( siehe cx5 review)

      Autogefühl danke für die schnelle Antwort. Ist jetzt die Frage ob es sich lohnt zu warten, da es ein Unterschied wie bei Opel mit dem Insignia ist, oder es ein minimaler Unterschied ist und man nicht enttäuscht ist das man nicht gewartet hat.

      Für dich zur Info aus der jüngsten Pressemeldung:
      "Mazda enthüllte heute auf der L.A. Auto Show ein umfassendes Facelift seines Flaggschiffs Mazda6 in der Limousinen-Version. Die Mittelklasse-Baureihe wird nicht nur optisch deutlich aufgewertet, sondern bekommt auch Motorenupdates, diverse Verbesserungen am Fahrwerk und an der Karosserie für mehr Komfort und weniger Geräusche sowie neue Sicherheitsfeatures. In den deutschen Handel kommt die Europa-Version des Mazda6 Facelift im Sommer 2018.Das aufgewertete Motorenangebot des Mazda6 Facelift besteht aus modifizierten SKYACTIV-D Diesel- und SKYACTIV-G Benzinmotoren sowie einer neuen Zylinderabschaltung für den SKYACTIV-G Benzindirekteinspritzer. Die Zylinderabschaltung deaktiviert im Niedriglastbereich - etwa beim Fahren mit konstantem Tempo - die beiden äußeren Zylinder: eine insbesondere bei geringen Fahrgeschwindigkeiten höchst effektive Maßnahme zur Verbrauchseinsparung. Der in der US-Version des Mazda6 Facelift vorgestellte 250 PS-starke 2,5-Liter SKYACTIV-G mit Turboaufladung wird in Europa nicht verfügbar sein.Das Außendesign mit neu gestalteter Front- und Heckpartie unterstreicht die Hochwertigkeit des preisgekrönten KODO-Designs des Mazda6. Neue Scheinwerfer mit serienmäßiger LED-Technik inklusive funktional integrierter Nebelleuchten umschließen einen neu gestalteten Kühlergrill im typischen Mazda Design. Die markante Chromschwinge an der Front setzt sich jetzt wie beim neuen Mazda CX-5 unterhalb der Scheinwerfer fast bis zum äußeren Rand fort. Im Heckbereich kommen ebenfalls modifizierte Leuchten zum Einsatz, in denen die neu gestaltete Chromleiste am Heckdeckel endet. Der neue hintere Stoßfänger und vergrößerte Auspuff-Endrohre ergänzen die Veränderungen am Heck. Neu designte 17- und 19-Zoll-Leichtmetallfelgen sowie die neue Sonderfarbe Magmarot-Metallic runden die optischen Modifikationen ab.Der Innenraum des Mazda6 Facelift wurde nahezu vollständig neu gestaltet und präsentiert sich insgesamt nochmals deutlich eleganter und hochwertiger. So kommen zum Beispiel komplett neue Sitze mit optionaler Belüftung der Vordersitze zum Einsatz.In der höchsten Ausstattungslinie werden neben braunem Nappaleder im Innenraum exklusive Zierelemente im Stil des japanischen Sen-Holzes, das für traditionelle Musikinstrumente und Möbel verwendet wird, sowie ein edles UltraSuede®-Material am Instrumententräger und den Türverkleidungen verarbeitet.Ebenfalls neu ist ein in die Frontscheibe projizierendes Head-up Display sowie ein 8-Zoll Display mit schärferem Farbkontrast für das MZD Connect-System. Je nach Ausstattung vervollständigt ein konfigurierbares 7-Zoll TFT-Runddisplay in der Mitte des Instrumententrägers die Verbesserungen im Innenraum.Mit dem Mazda6 Facelift ist eine noch breitere Palette fortschrittlicher i-ACTIVSENSE-Sicherheitstechnologien verfügbar. Die adaptive Geschwindigkeitsregelanlage mit radargestützter Distanzregelung (MRCC) beinhaltet in Kombination mit Automatikgetriebe nun einen Stauassistenten. Der Mazda6 Facelift verfügt zudem auch über eine neue 360°-Kamera."

    If you ask informed car people to name the car that should be more popular than it is, based on merit, the answer is often "the Mazda 6." I wonder why. One guess: the name is hardly a grabber.

    The headroom is not enough for me in the Mazda 6 with sunroof and it does not have enough headroom left for safety reasons without a sunroof. If the car would go over a bump I can hit my head. Most Japanese manufacturers do this. If they are going to sell globally they need to think about people of different sizes. Also, in most Japanese cars the seats are too short and give no thigh support. In the USA most Japanese manufactures omit the passenger seat height adjustment. This is not good for short or taller passengers. Those may be small gripes to most people but for some they are deal breakers when buying a car. So why limit your potential sales base? Just design the roof higher and don't cheap out on the omission of a passenger seat height adjustment. Even a manual one would be fine.
