  • Considering that Chaos Knights will soon be receiving reinforcements, we thought it was time for a brief rant on the subject. This video was meant to be about three minutes long, then this happened.

      I can empathise with you there, I’ve got a very large stack of cultists (100+) that have just sat on the shelf for years now.
      Horde armies are time consuming but they do look impressive when (or more likely IF) they’re finished.

      That seems like a good idea for games, as you can play whatever side you fancy at the time.
      Although, it becomes a little more awkward if you cover your Knights in spikes, skulls and chaos stars as we have though!

      @BR4IN1N4J4R Před 2 lety +1

      I skip the spikes (used Loyalist kits) and instead painted them somewhat generically. If my opponent questions how they're Chaos, I just tell them they recently turned and they haven't been twisted by the Gods yet

    I have painted about 50 or more black templates this year. Other than running them through a sand box or smearing then bases with Vallejo, they’re done. Nonetheless, it’s a never ending project. I bought two boxes of chaos knights and some Armigers. I can already visualize the end. It’s glorious.

      I like big infantry armies, but whenever I try to paint mine, I always end up overlooking some minor detail on a few of them, then you have to repeat steps to get everyone to the same stage. I've got about 40 primaris Hawk Lords on my shelf, de moulded, sprayed and half painted, but I practically get anxiety just looking at them! One day they'll get done, I tell myself!
      Nice one getting 50 Black Templars finished, that's a tricky colour scheme balancing black and white like that.

    Chaos Knights are an extremely fun painting project.
    I mainly focused on Age of Sigmar but got one of these bad boys a few months back just for the fun and damn was it refreshing and fun to paint.

    • @WarpsongGames
      @WarpsongGames  Před 2 lety +12

      Personally, I just bought a stack of Armigers/War Dogs at first as they're less work to de-mould and paint. They're almost like mini practice Knights.
      As for first actual knight, if you don't feel like converting one of the loyalist Knights then the improved new rules for the Knight Desecrator's laser destructor are pretty impressive if you want ranged firepower.

    • @invadervim9037
      @invadervim9037 Před 2 lety +7

      I'm play pure loyalist knights, and warpsong is right. The new chaos knight itself is really cool, and it has all the spikey bits you need already. That being said, the cool thing about knights is they're all basically in one box. The one knight box can be built into either a gallant, crusader, paladin, errant or warden. Besides that you got the Castellon box that can also be built into a valiant, but don't start with those. Armigers are great, but for me they really just fill out points when I don't have enough for a while knight.

    Just noticed the Kytan in the background, I loved building and painting mine! Can’t wait to see what you do with it!

    • @WarpsongGames
      @WarpsongGames  Před 2 lety

      Unlike all of my unfinished Knights, the Kytan is 100% de moulded, but I still need to convert a base for it. I did plan on making the base, building it and painting it in one video - but those videos take about a month to make, and the algorithm isn't interested unless you're doing at least one video a week. So, what we're going to do instead is break it down into steps, do the base in one short video, then build/pose it, then paint it in the last video.
      Also, if you're wandering where we've been for the last few months, the short answer is, we were buried by MOUNTAINS of editing! There's five projects on my hard drive, all of them at about 50-80% complete, and they're all 20 minute - half hour episodes. Plus there's that one which is like an hour long. We'll gradually release these videos when I can muster the effort to edit them, but I think we're going to try to make shorter videos, and see if we can game the algorithm.

    • @WarpsongGames
      @WarpsongGames  Před 2 lety

      Why, are you volunteering? I think I would have to sell a kidney to pay anyone enough to edit that mountain!
      The main cause of the problem was me filming too damn' much, trying to get things perfect, shooting everything from multiple angles where most people would be like 'dude, it's youtube, just film it once'. What adds a day onto shooting, adds WEEKS on in editing.
      We've gotten a lot more efficient with filming now, though - we wrote, filmed and edited a video in two days this week, so that frees up my weekend for getting some squads painted.

    I'd love to start a wardog force for my renegade night lords warband, but don't feel like paying 120 pound for the new chaos knight kit a d can't find the old wardog kit under the chaos knight section on games workshop. Does the loyalist kit have the same bits as the old chaos kits?

    • @WarpsongGames
      @WarpsongGames  Před 2 lety +1

      That's how I use my Wardogs, I use them as heavy support for the sub- 500 point forces I've got for both world eaters and flawless host. They don't get buffed by the HQ choices of CSM's, but being able to move 14'' and snipe multi wound primaris guys form 60'' away seems well worth the trade-off.
      There isn't actually an old wardog kit, they've only sold loyalist armigers up until now. We converted our four wardogs of Khorne by stealing armour plates from a couple of Forgefiends (which I'm starting to regret abit, as Forgefiends are absolutely deadly in the new codex).
      Check out our wardog kitbash video if you want to see how we converted our own wardogs. We're going to make a Chaos Knight house dedicated to khorne, and another chaos knight house decicated to Slaanesh, so there's plently of content like this lined up for the next weeks and months!
