NFL Throwback it’s fine because radio broadcasts are rare and hard to find compared to TV ones.
I hope you keep having posts like this. I don’t care if it’s local radio or national.
We all know what Michaels/Madden sound like so its nice to hear 3rd year VIkings announcer Paul Allen finding his stride (he was just a horse racing announcer and didn’t do football at all until he did online broadcasts of Vikings games in 2000)

The crazy thing about this 04 Colts offense vs 07 Patriots vs 13 Broncos. Edgerrin James going over 1500 yards with the crazy pass attack. Edge now when you think about it. He's becoming more underrated as the years goes by. He played in a time where Shuan Alexander, Ladanian Tomlinson, Clinton Portis, Ricky Williams, Fred Taylor, Priest Holmes, Tiki Barber, Jamal Lewis were running wild against defense. IMO Bradon Stokley was the Wes Welker before Wes Welker and of course Austin Collie who was drafted in 2009 and not in this game pre injury was Julian Edleman before Julian. Peyton could've easily gone over 50 this season. Him sitting out against Denver in week 17. Cost him 2-4 extra TD given what he did to that defense a week later in the wildcard round.

The Colts had a choice between Peyton and Ryan Leaf, and Edgerrin James and Ricky Williams. Much debate was around those choices and at the time, I'm sure there were those who thought they made the wrong choice. Turns out they made 2 of the greatest draft choices in franchise history, and in Manning's case, one of the greatest draft choices in NFL history. You really never know when a draft pick will set your franchise backwards or forwards for the next decade. In fairness, Ricky Williams was far from a bust, but Edge clearly proved to be the more reliable RB if not the better RB overall.

From TO coming back from a broken ankle to having 9 catches and Deion Branch being the unsung hero of the game and super bowl MVP to McNabb throwing up and Rodney Harrison clinching the 3rd title for New England to solidify themselves as a dynasty. Even David Givens mocking the Eagles with a TD celebration.

Culpepper low key had one of the best seasons any quarterback ever had that season. But the Vikings had a bad defense and Peyton Manning happened to have THE best season any quarterback ever had up to that point. Cuplpepper was 2nd to Manning in most important categories or was at least 3rd. He lead the league in passing yards with 4,717 and tacked over 400 more on the ground. Culpepper didn’t have nearly the same weapons that Peyton did, either. Other than Randy Moss, who didn’t even try, he didn’t have much. Moss had less than 1,200 receiving yards for the first time in his career and he didn’t even reach 800 for the entire year. Nate Burleson and Jermaine Wiggins both had career years in 2004 thanks to Culpepper. Onterrio Smith lead the team in rushing yards with 544 and the team only had 8 rushing touchdowns all season. 2 were by Culpepper. Those went along with his 39 through the air. The Vikings offensive line sucked, too. Culpepper was sacked 46 times that season. Culpepper would never start more than 7 games in a season again and lost 22 of his final 27 games in the league. So weird.

These colts were great but they were the atlanta braves of the 90s during the early 2000s with all those regular seasons dominating and all those losses usually were games they should have won except the 41-0 playoff game for the colts to the jets lmao in 2002

Gosh, there was no one like Peyton. Simply the greatest QB of all-time. There is no debate.
Unfortunately, he was always paired with super porous defenses and special teams that always gave up huge plays. Or coaches that made horrible calls in critical games. The best defense he was paired with wasn't until his body had broken down, so we didn't get the best of him. If he would have had any of the luxuries Brady enjoyed with an offensive line, 3-deep at the RB position, top 5 defenses and a cheating coach, he would have won 8 or 9 Super Bowls.
"But they had Mathis and Freeney!" Yep, and good opponents knew how to just escort them in a wide arc forming a nice, comfy pocket for QB's to stand in. Freeney was also out for the Super Bowl against the Saints and Brees had aaaaalll day.
"But they had Edgerrin James!" Yep, who only got so many yards because defenses had to drop 8 into coverage or risk getting constantly toasted by Manning.
"But they had a good line; Manning was the least sacked QB in the league!" Do your research - he had the quickest release in the league too, as his lines often fell apart in under 2 seconds. They weren't good lines, which was why sustaining the run in bad weather was difficult.
"But they had good kickers!" Who missed clutch kicks in numerous playoff games, but of course Manning gets the blame. Oh, and their special teams gave up huge returns all the time.

    Okay that explains it.
Had to see the pinned comment to realize these weren’t your ABC announcers. I was wondering why Paul was calling out every players position, motions, and all the details.
Honestly. I love it when announcers do that.obviously we can see what’s going on but it just breaks thins down for you helps you see in even greater detail before it all unfolds.
REALLY wish more TV announcers would do this instead of running off at the mouth about stuff that sounds stupid or is irrelevant.
I don’t mind the occasional anecdote or maybe a related stat or something.
But radio announcers just break things down and get you engaged.
