Urge: Gulrood Exploration (Session 3) (No Commentary)

  • Doing what should've been done to begin with was to explore the area we drove through in the "prologue" portion of the game. While there are a few enemies, no doubt thanks to the fog hovering around 25% to 40%, there's useful stuff to find and lore items that point you in the direction of where the current base is. Take time time to explore and you can find another one of the very few usable cars in the game and even a few guns.
    Assuming I had a larger car, or one with more area, I could stick more chests onto them to act as more storage, but for now one chest on the buggy will do.
    Killing the flying "Urpuff Carriers" releasing a giant ton of urdust into the air and apparently are not hostile unless you get real close to them, in which they simply release more stuff to increase the fog level. It's honestly better to just let them be assuming they aren't right outside your base or ways of travel.
    Last thing to talk about this part is geysers. Every 5 days they will erupt and left uncontained by either a tarp tent setup or some other sort of urdust capturing device, they will increase the fog level in it's area by a decent amount. You can tell where they are by either stumbling across them or follow the noise when they erupt. If you have enough fog catchers or have a anti fog bomb ready, you can mostly ignore them assuming you have been keeping track of your own means of urdust productions.

    Main features:
    --The hazardous fog, player-caused or not, is the punishment for your corner-cutting actions, which brings a variety of problems (e.g., special enemies, physical dangers, speeds up your urge, and the like).
    --Chop down trees to build yourself a complex base or just look around for plywood to barricade one of the abandoned houses. Lay down traps to keep you safe inside.
    --Use a variety of firearms, melee weapons and throwables against junkies and other scary creatures.
    --Discover hidden vehicles, fuel them with the fog-spreading "piss" and use them to travel between towns.
    --Explore, search for supplies, combine items and build to prepare for the rise and fall of the hazardous fog.
