To get Freeform’s dreads i think u should sponge it for 5 mins all around then use a brush the sponge forms it and the brush gets all the way to the roots

I only used water and nothing else for my free forms. That’s all you need. No sponges no twisting. Nothing but water and they’ll literally form by themselves. Just make sure you have enough hair to start them.
