    I've complimented you and your videos in the past, but must say that you have out done yourself this time. There are a few GW2 content creators who know and express a lot about the lore of the game, and previous to this video, I would have placed you in the top 5 of those people. Now, with this video, you have surpassed them all! Really, I am stunned by your video editing and the script you prepared for this video. It is truly next level stuff. This is without a doubt, the best GW2 video I have ever viewed, period!

    There was a leak that popped up a long time ago (8 months ago on reddit) had quite a few of stuff that may have been changed later in the dev. The intro with the ship was stated in that leak:
    "We arrive in Cantha by airship, only to be shot out of the sky by the defensive batteries at Shing Jea Bastion. Interestingly enough, it is just the commander and her buddies ( the new commander ‘mascot’ is a lady, Devs just referred to her as ‘Mei’). Still, it did feel a bit like they rehashed the HoT opening. The next few story instances take place on the Fortress Island of Shing Jea, with the Bastion essentially towering over one half of the island, and a big mountain range over the other. You mostly try to understand why you got shot out of the sky, what the current situation is ( there is a lot of unrest and apparently Luxons and Kurzicks feel confident enough to try and secede from the empire again), trying to find your friends ( Marjory is missing, after crashing you get a cutscene of her being dragged away by an unknown faction with some sort of waves-like dragon symbol on their uniforms), and making new allies."

    I think Ankka will usurp mai trinn. Hence why we fight mai trinn in the strike. I think the black mist stuff at the end was "Mother" arriving. We see what looks like a face in the end card of the trailer, that seems to be made of the stuff. Perhaps the reason we are seeking the mysteries of the dragons, is to understand where they came from, and who "mother" is.

    • @FornaxTheHerald

      Honestly I had forgotten about mother, you could well be right.

    Just some random ideas from the vod.
    The last scene could be our end of dragons, the secret of the empire/jade tech could be that Jun's corporation has 'bubbles' may be unaware of the true origin of Jade power. What if that last scene is an elder dragon amalgamation/forming out of all the dragon energies loose on Tyria. The 'sea is gone' turned to jade and mined, what if 'bubbles' was a Jade Dragon (changed by the Jade Wind along with the sea), trapped and they are draining its essence from the Jade. But as we see, it escapes and it is reforming into 'bubbles', we have seen a similar scene when we enter Kralkatorik in Dragonfall.

    My speculation is that the Elder Dragon(s) of Cantha have a general agenda like Glint's Legacy or even they are specifically part of that. So there has been no resistance in progress to the Canthans like the corruption and consumption of magic like it has been in Tyria. So, all Canthans really understand is that people from a nation that basically just destroyed a human god, and five elder dragons has shown up. So, to Canthans this just looks like an invasion and threat to that peaceful legacy with their dragons. Then you've got these Aetherblades who are attacking and then we show up out of the goodness of our hearts to help them with that problem. What I am thinking is that none of the dragons are going to die but this is a story about the actual end of the dragon cycle itself. This story is just to tell how the world transitions from the end of the last dragon cycle and becoming Glint's Legacy.

    • @FornaxTheHerald
      @FornaxTheHerald  Před 2 lety +2

      I think the devs did say that Cantha experienced some consequences from the dragon rising. Perhaps their formidable dragon-jade technology shielded them from the worst of it. I also imagine the Empress has spies throughout the northern continents. Unless she deemed the nations so inconsequential, and ignored them. We will find out soon! \o/

    Thank you for another great video, you've given me food for thought indeed. Impressively well done.
    I don't agree siege turtles belong in WvW though as it would inevitably create an a-team and a b-team; those who own EoD and those who don't. Yes you have to own PoF to get the warclaw, but if you don't you can catch a ride by running alongside someone elses mount, getting its speed. WvW is one of the core gamemodes in this game and it should be open to everyone. A siege turtle map wouldn't really do a lot of difference in that aspect. I am however really looking forward to the Alliances and hoping it has some new and invigorating features in store for WvW as well.

      @@FornaxTheHerald I would love some new toys in WvW! It has been my favourite gamemode for a couple of years now. And one could definitely argue that F2P players can choose to upgrade etc, it's a valid opinion, I just think that Anet does a decent job at keepig the core features fairly equal and I appreciate that.
