Stana definitely walks the talk. Every day she sets an example and speaks out for the environment. What she says and believes is so important and we all need to really stop and listen. We all need to do our part no matter how big or small. Thanks to ATP, Google and most of all Stana for caring for the future of all humanity. All of you are an inspiration to us all.

She’s just so amazing that makes you want to improve yourself into something great as her project. I live in a Caribbean island where people works mostly to get a car, but when I listen Stana’s speech I really feel like I have to do something to change myself in order to help the environment.

In Denmark (like in Holland) a lot of people cycle to work and school. I personally have always cycled and taken the bus (in the winter) and a lot of my friends have done the same. In kindergarden the kids learns to cycle and in school we would cycle on classtrips and i remember when we were around 11 years we were tought in school how to cycle proberly in a more trafficated area (we even got a biking certificat). Now i live in the second largest city in Denmark (Aarhus, which i know is nothing compared to LA or a lot of other cities in the US) but here there is queue on the bike lane, because so many cycle, however it is still faster to cycle than to drive in your car. One of the things that i like is that there are separat traffic lights for cyclers which means that it is more safe and that the drivers are more aware of the people cycling. The bike lane is also many times divided into two (one for those who are going staright ahead and one for those who are turning right) which again makes it more safe. They have done something similar with busses where there are lanes only used by the busses, which again makes it easier and more safe.
Further more there are boxes around the city that counts how many cyclists have passed it. It is funny to see that at 8 o'clock in the morning already around 600 cyclist has passed the the same box as you.
When you are cycling there are people handing you newspapers and during election you get folders about the different candidates, so i think that the shops could also benefit from having more cyclers because they can advertise that way.
Personally i use my hour of cycling to and from school everyday to clear my head, get som fresh air and new energy to start doing homework when i get home.
Sorry for the long comment, but i think this is important and i think that Aarhus is doing a great job, that maybe can inspire others.

I was actually just looking for interviews with my favorite actress but I stayed for the topic, this is so interesting and educating for someone who lives in a city where the majority of people travel by bike or public transport.
I personally hate travelling with cars, you always have to pay attention to everything. In a train or bus I can read or listen to music and relax, that's much less stressful. And cheaper.

She should do this with the Philippines' government officials because traffic has really worsened in Metro Manila these past couple of weeks because of every cabinet member, including our MMDA chairman, every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the government, expressing their intent to run for a seat in the elections next year. Actually, she should just reprimand and educate and tell every government official in our country to go to the corner and think of what they've done to better the infrastructure.

Stuff companies can do to encourage biking to the workplace: Infrastructure for the bikes, so they are not stolen or damaged every other day. Lockers so people can change clothes. Showers so people can freshen up. My bet is that there is a large group which would bike if such things were provided. No one wants to carry the working outfits in a backpack to and fro every day and feel uncomfortably unshowered all day after the early morning bike ride to work. No one wants to step at 8 p.m. out of the office and find a vandalized bike with flat tires and no option but walking home or getting a taxi.

I want to learn how cities with radical seasonal climate changes accommodate massive fluctuations in ridership during weather extremes. Non-permanent residential status of university student population is a tremendous burden that follows a similar cyclical pattern. Together, these bursts in ridership have, at times, crippled our public transportation system.

I love Stana Katić and I think she is extremely talented, professional, intelligent and engaging... but pay attention to her speech here - she has a clearly Canadian accent and lilt. When she does interviews for Hollywood productions or on the talk show circuit...she has a different accent! Like, a really hard to pinpoint one that sounds like it belongs nowhere in particular.
Sorry it's so off-topic but as a linguist and a fan of hers, that is definitely very bizarre... (super sexy however)

Ok, fine with the ATP, as long as it doesn't require CCTV on every freakin corner and in between to capture that data. Just Sayin,.....embracing what all of this emerging technology can do has a huge downside too, in terms of privacy freedoms. ....technology should be treated like drugs advertisements - talk about the great possibles of the stuff, but also alert the public about the downside/side effects...
