Urinal won’t stop flushing

Try washing the diaphragm before replacing it. This is a Sloan flushometer.

I am at the hospital got up in the middle of the night to do my bladder a favor. I leaned against the syphon using my fist bump aproach, it gave way a liltle and the water jet was on permanently . Sounding like Niagara Falls. I didn't want to touch it. So I called maintenance . While they worked on it , I came here . Where I got my CZcams Engineering Certification to download me some knowledge from the matrix. I now can do plumbing, to add to my list of skills. Also fly jumbo jets, repair super colliders , dodge and catch bullets. Life's good

How did you get the shut off valve cover off? The first step 1/2 chrome cover?

Sometimes you can unscrew it, if it keeps spinning, just pry it off with a screwdriver, it should just pop off.

Correct. An open end is better. I usually use a rag while using a channel lock. I forgot to mention that.

Sloan makes a smooth jaw wrench for this. I don't remember the part number because it is in my tool box at work

Make sure it is sealed properly. Also check your water pressure. Also turn the water valve on slowly.
