  • Fìlà Gọ̀bì is a particular/distinct Yorùbá Cap. It is a Yorùbá cap style on its own.
It, alone, has five different directions and meanings.
This is precisely how Fila, a Yoruba Cap should be used:

Today, Gọ̀bì cap is the most commonly used Yorùbá cap. Yorùbá has different cap style, not limited to Gọ̀bì (also known as Ìkòrì), Adé-bois, Onídẹ, Àdìrò and Abetíajá.
People, regardless of their ethnicity or root now wear the prestigious Gọ̀bì cap that has its origin from the Yorùbá people. The cap can be turned, folded to five different directions. And each direction has there own distinct meaning and message.
This distinct Yorùbá (Gọ̀bì) cap is designed for the use of men only.
There are many false claims about this cap. Some people wrongly conclude when Gọ̀bì cap is tilted to the left (by men), it indicate a negative event or tragedy like mourning, financial loss or disaster.
In this video illustration, five different directions and meanings of fìlà (cap) Gọ̀bì in this modern time is explained.
