great video, replaced the worn universal joint on my linkage (well over $100) and did not realize the Ball-style link had to swivel like that. great video
I use motorcycle chain lube for things like this. It comes out if the spray can with a plastic straw, and thickens up when it evaporates.....good stuff!
I was taught that if wasn't sealed you should lube it with oil. A few squirts of oil will flush out a swivel eye but grease with dry and cake up into a gritty paste.
I have the 4400 and they are not well built tractors john deere should be ashamed! Had lots of issues with mine and it only had 1200 hrs now and the shifter shaft beside the one ur moving broke off in the transmission yesterday! And I lube mine 3 or 4 times a year! Best advice sell it or trade it now!!
Have you ever had occasion to adjust a 4300 clutch pedal height with the turn buckle style adjuster? Changed my broken fnr lever linkage joints and found that the fnr lever would not shift unless the main clutch pedal was almost on floor. Do you know of any free play measurement for the main clutch pedal?
Have a 2007 John Deere x3oo tractor hydrostatic transmission problems. Also pedals bushings replacement. Now tractor goes reverse fast speed. Forward in slow speed. Call Tuff torq service parts department. Told him he said pump or motor installed wrong. Took apart took pictures. Sent to Tuff torq service department. They said that we did it correctly. They said hooked up linkages backwards. They don't know if it's because of backwards when changing both forward & reverse pedals bushings. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME DISABLED & HANDICAPPED PERSON. MECHANIC NEVER CAME BACK?
