  • Not many yards are left that are full of classic old cars that's open to the public, so when we were passing through the area, we definitely had to stop and check out what Dolloff Antiques was all about. There is a ton of vintage iron just waiting to be used for parts, or fixed up. The best part is that most of them had very little rust, even for being 70+ years old. This junkyard is located in Western South Dakota but it would definitely be worth the drive to go see and explore!
    Thanks for watching!

Oh my GOD. At 6:46 , that is a 48-50 Packard Station Sedan. Packard didn't call them station wagons. They were Station Sedans. Wow. That needs to be bought and restored. Very rare. WOW

I see others are saying it but at the 7 minute mark, that's not home made, that's a factory Woody Wagon from Packard. The styling was known as the "pregnant elephant" period. Right after WWII. That would be a very valuable car.

That late 40s Packard woody is a factory made car. Next to that is one of my favorite (1940 Pontiac). Seen a video on this yard before and it is very impressive. I grew up in NE South Dakota and in the early 70s a lot of cars around me went to the crusher.

There are several different versions of take apart wheels. The true widow maker wheel breaks apart in the center, and as far as I know, only comes in twenty inch rim size. They are the most dangerous of all of the take apart wheels. If they are not joined together properly, it's a lot harder to see them coming apart, and if you are in the way, they can kill you. That's how they got the name widow maker. The wheels you showed all come apart at the outer rim, and there are a few variations of those. They can hurt you, also. The least dangerous of all of the take apart wheels actually consists of 3 pieces: the main wheel, the outer rim, and a snap ring ring to hold it all together. If you work on any of these wheels, ALWAYS use a safety cage or a logging chain wrapped around the wheel in case you didn't get it back together right. It just might save your life. Also, never lean over the wheel while airing them up.
There are a lot of really cool vehicles there. Thanks for sharing this with us.
