Andrew, I'm so proud of you for coming out. Thank goodness for having such a supportive family. I didn't come out until I was in my 40s. My son was my hugest support, and he was straight. My wife was absolutely wonderful, and continues to be. (I know that sounds complicated, but it's not...love conquers all. Don't ever forget that, Andrew.) Plus I'm proud of every young person that does come out...what courage it takes to do that, and, for me, it shows incredible character to be honest with yourself and others. Thank for this video. Big thumbs up, Andrew!

You were soooooooo lucky with your parents and stepmom. Both of my parents were dead set against it. I tried coming out twice. The first time with my Mom she was like how could you be gay you like Dolly Parton and brushed it off. The second time she stopped talking to me for like 3 weeks and I was literally dying inside cause my Mom was my rock. So if you can believe it I talked myself out of being gay and I told my Mom I'd never mention it again. I'm 50....and I've never been on a date....or known love. Just the love of my Mom. She passed on November 3rd 2021....and it's the hardest thing I ever went through in my life. Now it's just me and......I'm alone. It's very hard!!!!

+okimlistening2u There are two great songs for gay kids and teens that are struggling or going through bullying and self acceptance issues, perhaps some kids you know might draw strength from them? 1) Ronan Parke sings anti bullying song called: "Defined" from the U K and a rarity song on youtube ""Cass Elliot + Different + w/Lyrics posted by miquel coper" many of cass elliots' songs were messages of ope and support for gay kids/teens long before the Disco Divas entered the scene see gay movie Beautiful Thing :)

me too, has an issue about coming out, none of my family knows and i only have like 3 friends who know that i'm gay, n i usually get mocked in school too just because they suspect me for being gay (not actually know)

I had to chuckle because I myself used to look at International Male catalog and I would tell myself I was envious of those guys' bodies. I don't know if that catalog is still around but it was like the underwear section in a Penny's catalog on steroids. It had underwear, thongs, banana hammocks, g-strings, everything! I wanted a body like theirs (denial ain't just a river in Egypt). I'm glad your family was so cool with everything. You are a truly cool person yourself. I love your blog. Hugs!

I know this video is very old, but i just wanted to say that it is very hard for some too come out to even a friend, some like myself never even wanted my fockes to know. I knew it would never be anywhere near the same, I knew that my mother would never look at me the same way again. To be honest she never has, it has changed my whole relationship with her and everyone else in my family, and I don't know if that feeling will ever go away.
Thank you for the video, it was what i needed to get through another day.

I forgot to mention this in my own coming out video, but you're "rationalization," for a lack of better words, was exactly the same as mine. I always thought the really attractive, muscular men made me feel how I did because I wanted to look like them, not because I was attracted to them. That's crazy man!! I wonder how many others there are!

Sweetheart...thanking you for a wonderful video and the coming out process you experienced. My coming out went just as well because family figured it out long before I knew....anyway, it's been almost 30 years and it was the BEST coming out I could ever imagine. My parents were divorced as well and remember writing my dad a letter about my being gay....he was supportive and loving in his own way and I thought how great that was. All they wanted was for me to be happy. I have been out now nearly 30 years and a mentor to several of our gay youth helping them live in a world that's still not accepting. I teach them about being kind, generous, respectful and tolerant to others and today they're all doing well and now paying it forward from what they learned early on. I AM SO PROUD OF THEM ALL and proud of you baby for sending such a good message to those kids who's yet to come out. Hoping someday that coming out will be a thing of the past and that your sexuality should NOT mean a thing. Wishing you well sweetheart and I have enjoyed your videos for awhile...you are a lovely young man and feel you will go very far in life. Be well and if ever you need to chat I'll be here for you too...xoxox "Mama" Steve😊👍🏿

I remember I came out to the bishop (Who later on became a really good friend when I left the church) when I was in Mormonism and he was fully accepting but he asked me “Do you want kids?’ And I don’t know why but that broke my heart.

This video made me cry a bit tbh. I grew up Mormon so the coming out process was incredibly painful and drove me to the edge of suicide repeatedly. I am glad that there are families and friends who can handle coming out experiences, I just wish I had had that too.

That coming out Is ideal for any gay guy, that is so good that you had such a great support system , It's important . Mine was was a struggle I was not allowed to do things like everyone else but I'm pretty outspoken when it came to being treated equally, at first I wasn't but I was left with no choice but to defend what felt and believed in. my mom told me she accepted me but she really didn't and she treated me different never asked me how I was doing in my relationship or showed any concern, I learned how to use my voice and voiced what I felt was unfair standing stern in what I believed in, not moving or changing but showing who I was, that being gay wasn't a disease and I'm still a good person, there Is nothing wrong with me accept I'm DIFFERENT . I fought for what I believed in and some turned out good and some bad it made me a stronger person and now my sexual orientation didn't change me for the bad but the good and now .. Everyone sees for their self who I am today.

The intro I can relate to also. I always thought I wanted to aspire to be these men I was looking at, turns out that wasn't the case.

Saw 4 of your vids before reading this, consecutively, and Im pretty sure you're type of person who smile always. but your smile while you're talking bout this guy, or two guys, that you find attracted, your smile is different, its like there's some kind of spark (spark?) or maybe its kinda funny, its just different. That really made me smile.haha

All my tent mates were the annoying kids that would talk endlessly about life and everyone in the tents around us would be yelling "shut up!" At midnight and I couldn't sleep lol
