  • Stories of enlightenment are many, but perhaps one of the most celebrated is of the life of master teacher Milarepa. His story is one of overcoming impossible odds to capture the most rare of achievements - awakening. At the heart of this accomplishment is a body of work embodied in Dohas, or songs of realization.
    Our talk will explore the incredible life of Milarepa, through his story and these songs, drawing from a new translation of the renowned text 100,000 Songs of Milarepa. In addition, we will delve into some of the songs themselves through singing.
    About the speaker:
    Carlyle Coash holds a Master's in Buddhist Studies from Naropa University. He has spent many years working in end-of-life care and is a Certified Meditation Instructor since 1999. He has a passion for exploring the practical and real impact of Buddhist teachings in the world and in our relationship with all beings.
