You are definitely not alone! This community is great ( chronic illness) and so supportive. It's funny because we have less energy to give. I have found a lot of a community are the most supportive people in my life.

Welcome back! Missed you. I am single, without family, so I slept through Christmas, but everytime I got up there was something on the kitchen counter for me. So I wasn't forgotten.

Amazon gift bags are awesome and very pretty too. It costs a bit more, but not having to deal with stress and wrapping paper, tags and tape and ribbon is a game changer when you aren’t feeling well and have to much to do. We have used them for a few years and put things back in the shipping box only adding a bow if we already had one. I switched to only using recycled paper years ago. Mom was ahead of her time when we were little and until she wasn’t able to shop or wrap gifts because she didn’t let anyone rip or tear the wrapping paper and she would collect it and flatten it out and even use the iron to get it to look brand new and she would then roll it up on the cardboard tubes she had saved and store it until next year when she would reuse it again and again year after year. I wouldn’t be surprised if we went into the attic and found her stash of wrapping paper. Sometimes she was more excited about the beautiful paper used to wrap the gifts sent by friends and family we didn’t get to see very often. I have always loved wrapping gifts and being creative with what I used. I think I will start collecting seasonal fabric to use instead of buying wrapping paper. Plus you can get some really beautiful ribbon and other things to add to the presentation of the gift. I have to admit that there were a couple of Christmases that due to health issues and recovery from surgeries and cancer treatments that what little was purchased didn’t get wrapped and were given out in whatever shopping bags we had on hand while we sat around on our king size bed with Christmas music playing because the trees never got put up and decorated . We didn’t do any of our traditions because I didn’t have any energy to do it and I couldn’t find the recipe for the Christmas coffee cake and no one was up for cooking a traditional Christmas dinner and we did whatever was quick and easy. I have been a little surprised that our daughter went along with it and actually requested to do it again this year. Coming from a large family I have always started shopping for the next year with the after Christmas sales and if and when I found something that was perfect for someone during the year I would pick it up and store it in my gift closet which I kept locked as I slowly accumulated gifts. Learned that from my Mom, she had different hiding places and occasionally she forgot were she had hidden them. We they sold our childhood home and had to go through everything and sell whatever wasn’t needed we discovered quite a number of misplaced and forgotten gifts. 2018 was a horrible year on so many levels starting with the death of my Dad and a month later the death of my mother in law right before Easter. My youngest sister is doing everything she can to destroy the family and has been since Mom died in 2011. She had another sister text me a message the day after Dad died and I then discovered that he had been sick and unconscious for 4 days before he died. Recently I found out that our eldest sister was in the hospital due to a deep brain bleed and then had a hemorrhagic stroke and they didn’t know if she would live and if she did what condition would she be in. She has aphasia and is paralyzed on her right side. She is in a rehabilitation hospital to see if she will improve. So 2019 can only get better than that.
I work in a group home and three of my four clients eat puréed diets. Carrots are one of those foods that don’t purée very well, and if you need to get them to a smoother consistency it helps to blend them in larger batches. When foods are puréed in small amounts they tend to splatter on the sides of the food processor and get chunks get stuck to the sides where they won’t get blended so you have to keep stopping and scrapping the sides, but if you purée several servings at once the processor is more full and the food circulates better, leading to a smoother purée. Just a little tip from someone who purées a lot of food.

OMG. I'm so glad you made it home for Christmas. I spent Christmas in a hospital once for my ankle fusion and I was put in this hospital's new post OP inpatient wing. I was all alone there and there was this one college med student watching me. He was so nice. I'm still praying for you that if it's not your time to be healed, if you believe in that, God will give comfort and strength to handle it. You'll continually be in my prayers and go out and you be you.
Thanks for sharing your journey. I recently discovered your page and it is so refreshing and inspiring to see your joy and love of life despite your pain. Watching your videos is helping me in my own journey as my EDS comorbidities are getting worse and im bwcoming feeding tube dependent.

I've watched so many port accesses on various chronic illness youtube channels and then just recently saw a few performed at my infusion center... the nurses there are SO lax about sterile protocol compared to the home videos I've seen. I was initially surprised when you said you got the infection at the hospital but now I'm really not.

That diaper pail is awesome. Seriously. We have several dogs, one who is adorable and has two brain cells. He's constantly in our trash and we have to pick up the can and put it where he can't reach, otherwise it's all over. I'm totally looking into getting one of those.

Happy belated birthday to my favorite phoenix, you keep on rising my friend! So happy to see you eating. It’s been a long time coming. I finally got a formal dysphagia diagnosis, right test at the right time actually showed what was happening. But docs don’t know why and don’t plan to investigate further. At least they are giving me a PEG tube soon. And hopefully adequate fluid and nutrition will gets my POTS back under control.

Would it work to get some kind of velcro tape from online and then put the soft half over the open velcro part on the back of the head strap? That way it would be covered and your hair might get stuck less and it would still be easily removable when needed

So glad you're doing better. Lovely video. I just wonder when you're allowed to use your own core muscles to support your fusion? Does the brace not enable immobility? Just curious. How long do have to wear the brace each day? So happy your major surgery is over with. Many blessings for a speedy recovery.

It's just so good to see you!!! I so glad you are home too, it's been such a long haul for you sweet Lady. Being home really lets a peron feel better and recoup better! Rest and recoup! So glad your new port is so much easier to access! And yes, braces can be really helpful but at the same time can also do harm used long term. Bruising is no fun and Muscle atrophy is not our friend... Had a brace similar to your new one but all metal and the back was not a rigid. Yes per the Site hubs -

I'm so glad you could have a nice low key birthday! And eating!!!!!! Yes carrots are a low histamine food - one of the lowes. This is so good, your belly needs some of the roughage, but it will for sure take some time to figure out that roughage. Awe awesome waltz!!! Be careful with the bone growth stimulator - for some folks it works out great but for others its results can do damage... I so happy to see you again! Christina,, I’ve seen your “pregnant “ pillow many times... do you sleep with it?? I have 7 back surgeries and many fusions, I need lots of pillows!! Is it comfy?? Please let me know!! I’m so happy you can eat carrots!! I love how you enjoy them.
I have the same pillow as Christina and I sleep with it off and on, especially if I'm experiencing a migraine or allergy problems. its def. comfy and you can set it up in many different ways according to your personal prefrence. it also has a zip off cover so you can wash it. idk if this helps, but I thought maybe just a lil input could help 😊

@@maruparra1963 I have sooo many pillows too, then I finally decided to try one of those. I like how many things you can do/use with it. It's perfect for back sleepers and side too, it will like hug you lol. I'm glad I could help even if it's just a bit. ❤
of course it helped!! one question, is there a special brand that you like? cause I found that not all pillows are made the same,,,, for example, a lot of people like "MY PILLOW" and I don't understand why they liked it, I just hated it!! I ended up giving them away. If you have a favorite brand that would help. THANKS!! @@agirlnamedbrett.
@@maruparra1963 the pregnancy pillow hole can be a crazy one to go down lol the brand of the one I have is called DOZE. so far I am enjoying it. if I remember right off the top of my head too, it comes with a warranty as well.
