I have personally experienced a minor accident in dubai, trust me Dubai police response was extremely caring, I felt I was with my family while I was with police. They will do everything for you and your safety.

Indian police is much better. Things are not always the same as you see. I was in Dubai and I wanted police to come urgently and they came after 45 mins and they gave an excuse that they were busy doing prayers.

For the footage the police looks terrible. No cars blocking lanes, just an officer standing in the middle of the road. In the UK or US you have overhead displays stating there is an accident or blockage, if needed there will also be cars on the road with traffic advisors, along with cones on the road and keep left/right signs.
I mean the police force looks like they waste money one expensive rather than vital key things most EU and US police forces us.
Dubai police does that when the damage done is severe and if there is need for interruption.

wrecker, a breakdown truck, recovery vehicle or a breakdown lorry or a low bed vinch truck is the correct name
And car lift is also correct technically because it will lift the car and carry on the bed
Towing is wrong because towing mean fetching a car with chain, rope or by jack while towing the car wheel will still be on the Road.

That depends on alot of factors. By most standards, it's pretty decent for a large city police department. Most domestic municipalities like at Atlanta or NYC take 25 to 30. It depends on officers available, officer locations, traffic, size of area covered by each officer and current call volume. As a Deputy Sheriff with only 4 people on including a supervisor, I patrol about 100 sq miles by myself. That puts my average response time between 5 and 12 minutes even with light traffic. If I'm already handling another call, could be 30 to 40 minutes unless another unit can take it.

A minute to within 12 minutes response time is very good. In Chilliwack BC non emergency calls can take hours for a police response. And often is done by the next shift and not even the shift you called in on. I talked with a RCMP member in Chilliwack and he said they often start there shifts with a bunch of back logged cases. And often don't even attend calls which come in while there on duty unless it's a emergency.

I actually applause how safe Dubai is and for the works of several outstanding UAE police, but when I was the one who experienced being robbed 2x, we reported it to the police and all that instances are brushed under the rug by the police. When my husband went to report to the 2nd robbery from our house, they said to my husband that I am cheating on him without asking my name, asking his name. They just jumped into that conclusion without investigation. I never let anyone enter our apartment. I was disgusted and furious at the same time for this incidents. To whom will I turn to? But then again, that is Dubai. Who will listen to an ordinary expat like me, against the words of their own kind
I hope this total disregard for taking actions against our reported petty crimes are not just to keep the crime rate records in low numbers. Moreover,some Dubai police should refrain from being a dead weight to the other hardworking Dubai police who are giving their best at their job.
