I took my 8 year old lad out on the big tide last night, and we got our first Larry! 94mm male! His shell was SOLID. Massive thanks to the Smash boys for the inspiration.
That’s awsome !!! Good on you !
That’s wicked mate, was all churned up but still had a cracking forage on the big spring down here in North Devon, where did you explore?
I've been off work for 6 months, with damaged hip and spine, and disease in my discs..I binge watch these fabulous smash fishing videos, and they get me through the darkest of days..your enthusiasm is infectious, and I thank you so much for that...keep up the great work...kind regards, stewart
Get well soon mate.
I love how you know all the different species!
Thank you ! Took a lot of reading 😆 il show more small creatures if you like seing the different species
@@SMASHFISHING we love singing all the different varieties of species you show!! 👍
Did you purge that oyster before you cooked it? That will get the sand and grit out of the oyster before you cook it. And make for a better eating experience. Food for thought
That looked awful. Best thing was straight in the waste bin. Not worth messing about with such a tiny bit of meat that you might get sick from.
Massive oyster WOW enjoy your adventures
I’m from Tennessee in the states! Have watched your videos for years! I am a bit of a Tom-boy who loves anything outdoors. Was interested in traveling and wanted suggestions of nice areas there to visit!
Hey there ! Thanks for watching , guernsey is a very small island so you can explore it in a few days , there amazing sights to see
My house is really nice. See you soon.
Gotta love a bit of Smash slo mo in the vids 😂
I sat down to eat and you upload... PERFECT TIMING! Love the videos keep it up!
same here haha
Hope you enjoy!
im glad you threw them back in
I enjoy your enthusiasm.
Great video! I am surprised that you don't seem to go after the body of the lobsters you catch. There's good meat where the legs meet the body.
Your knowledge of all species is amazing!
Thank you
Your knowledge of sea creatures etc, is absolutely incredible..as well as being amazingly entertaining, these videos are an education..they should be shown to children in school, to teach them about real life, and get them off mobile phones and video games!!
Thanks very much !
Great forage matey that was massive that oyster crazy how little meat in them though 👍👍🎣
Thats cos he boiled the absolute crap out of it!
You are very knowledgeable on marine life, impressive. That oyster was massive, ours on the Chesapeake Bay are big just shaped differently. I cook lobster tails split in half on a charcoal grill coated in butter and fresh chopped garlic.
Thanks for watching 🎣 your lobsters look cool ! We have similar aswell but call then crayfish
@@SMASHFISHINGWe eat them!
Smash fishing baby!!!
I've found oysters in alderney they were big to
Love watching your videos...
Makes me want to munch on some lobsters and prawns...
But I ain't about to get myself a trip to the ER for allergic reactions...
😅😂
Jeez, the big European oysters are the spawning stock. For future generations. Take the legal sized smaller ones as they have better flavour. Old guys are tough as old boots and invaluable.
Gotta love a cheeky Larry 🤟
You could boil the shells etc again, liquefy it, and have a delicious soup.
That’s a great idea , il try that sometime
Do the two swat lobsters you found ever breed with each other and if so what would you get.
Hi mate been watching your channel for a little while now absolutely great mate keep eating them lobsters 😂
Cheers mate there’s loads more to come 😂 I’m on a mission to turn into a fish 😂
those prawns taste so nice raw, sweet meat
I think you overcooked the Oyster about 20 minutes. It was done but the shell was so thick and heavy it wouldn’t pop open!
I think your rite mate
Have you ever tried slicing the lobster, batter and frying it ? It's freakin' good ( use peanut oil)
When you find another squat lobster, can you let us know what they cook/taste like, please?
Yeah I’m curious myself haha
Was the water hot enough for the oyster?
Nice forage too bad about the small oyster meat.🤣🤣
Treat yourself mate beautiful FN FEAST💯
Never seen you use prawns you catch for Bass fishing
I cant get over how much meat in that giant oyster.
I was very disappointed 🥲🤣
im curious about that oyster taste
Caution.. Contents may be Hot! 😆 Man that was an awesome lobster! Molting 😮.
Yes Sir
You should of perged it bro also cooked it for to long you should of steamed it for about 8 mins there would of been alot of meat I'm it . If cooked properly .
So what was the result with Squat lobsters, is there enough meat inthem to make them viable?
I’m not sure , the ones in this video were big so I thought I’d try but they had eggs
So excited about that oyster and what a let down lol
Tell me about it 🤣 was exspecting a feast
Do those oysters not produce pearls? The ones here that get that size produce lovely pearls, especially when you see so much grit.
That oyster you cooked to death I'm afraid. You should have purged it first and then opened it without cooking it.
id love to know how old the oyster would have been, i think id eat it as is and without all the trimmings
Too much sand..... And similarities to a mouth full of phlegm
That size 12 mins crack shell open
Save that broth, smash… Put some Ramen noodles down in there
Where's Smash? Outraged!.....lol
This cook up was at 3am lol smash was asleep
I haven’t seen you catch any bass. Plenty of prawns, lobsters and ormers. Do you see them very often?
Yeah I slay the bass 💪🎣
I am not saying that we should, but are squat-lobsters edible?
Biggest native oyster 4?

I’m sure I’m not alone but wondered if with your vast knowledge you would explain the numbers on high and low tides …
It’s meters mate from the lowest point the tide can go is 0 , when you hear me say it’s a 0.5 that’s half a meter from the lowest point of tide , high water same thing, the tide can rise between 6 to 11 meters at high,
The higher the tide at high water the lower it will go out
It’s all depends on the moon cycle and tides how big or small the tides will be👍
I hope this answers your question and thanks for watching
Those old shellfish are always bad
They are very old, always tough and like eating a shrivelled grandad haha😅
What you didn’t find a pearl inside that one son of a gun as big as it was that shell should be good for something😂😂
Do you know what happened to Mr. Evans?
Spawning season for those prawns so …….
Hi Jay , that oyster really was a clonker mate . A
Thanks mate just shame there was no meat an grit
@@SMASHFISHING It shrank because you cooked it way too long. Had you opened it raw, it would have been a decent size. They shrink when they're cooked too long like scallops.
All that grit and no pearl.
Gutting 😂 it was all fart no poo 🤣
Is that a native or invasive species of golf ball ?? LOL
That oyster is rather large you must compare it to others of its species and you will see the difference
Do you need a license for Foraging?
No just to land fish
Don't kill what you don't eat
How am I meant to know it wasn’t good without opening it😳🤣 think please
Yay super early for me ❤❤❤
👍✅🙀✅👍
And most of them have berries so……
🦐's
If you can show us any thing If there is anything worthwhile eating in a lobsters head mate
First, woop!
Why do u call them prawns? Those are shrimp prawns are fresh water
They are called prawns were I live , even in all my books on sea creatures they are prawns , we have shrimp also prawns in salt water
So ,you killed the Oyster for nothing
How was I meant to know it was all fart and no poo before I opened it 🤣 I don’t have exray vision 🙈 thanks for watching tho 👌
Wasn't a criticism mate just a statement,because I would have done worse
No views lets go!
For something different how about you cooking and eating a steak 😜
Had steak last night haha
You and Sam divorced now ?.
So he’s started up a building company so dosnt have a lot of time, when he’s got things going more he will be back fishing 🎣
When i saw you not only overcook the oyster but throw away the rest of the meat, I am really sad, in the place where i come from, oysters are very expensive seafood. If you don't know how to cook it, don't catch it. I'm sorry for giving such blunt comment...
You having a bad day mate ? Seem a bit aggy❤️
Thats a no from me dawg
