    I took my 8 year old lad out on the big tide last night, and we got our first Larry! 94mm male! His shell was SOLID. Massive thanks to the Smash boys for the inspiration.

    Did you purge that oyster before you cooked it? That will get the sand and grit out of the oyster before you cook it. And make for a better eating experience. Food for thought

      That looked awful. Best thing was straight in the waste bin. Not worth messing about with such a tiny bit of meat that you might get sick from.

    Great video! I am surprised that you don't seem to go after the body of the lobsters you catch. There's good meat where the legs meet the body.

    Your knowledge of sea creatures etc, is absolutely incredible..as well as being amazingly entertaining, these videos are an education..they should be shown to children in school, to teach them about real life, and get them off mobile phones and video games!!

    You are very knowledgeable on marine life, impressive. That oyster was massive, ours on the Chesapeake Bay are big just shaped differently. I cook lobster tails split in half on a charcoal grill coated in butter and fresh chopped garlic.

    Jeez, the big European oysters are the spawning stock. For future generations. Take the legal sized smaller ones as they have better flavour. Old guys are tough as old boots and invaluable.

    I think you overcooked the Oyster about 20 minutes. It was done but the shell was so thick and heavy it wouldn’t pop open!

    You should of perged it bro also cooked it for to long you should of steamed it for about 8 mins there would of been alot of meat I'm it . If cooked properly .

    That oyster you cooked to death I'm afraid. You should have purged it first and then opened it without cooking it.

    I’m sure I’m not alone but wondered if with your vast knowledge you would explain the numbers on high and low tides …

      It’s meters mate from the lowest point the tide can go is 0 , when you hear me say it’s a 0.5 that’s half a meter from the lowest point of tide , high water same thing, the tide can rise between 6 to 11 meters at high,
      The higher the tide at high water the lower it will go out
      It’s all depends on the moon cycle and tides how big or small the tides will be👍

      @@SMASHFISHING It shrank because you cooked it way too long. Had you opened it raw, it would have been a decent size. They shrink when they're cooked too long like scallops.
