    Use good speakers or headphones! There are two main ingredients, both quite well done, in the engine noise coming through the speakers, induction growl and base tone. In the video the difference in induction noise is quite clear but is slightly more different in real life. The bass is harder to hear the difference in the video if you don't have a good pair of stereo or monitor speakers.
    Coded the engine noise of and on with the Carista app and an OBD2 bluetooth adaptor

    Sounds great without the fake noise. You hear more induction and turbo.

      It sounds very honest and real without it. It's a keeper for me. But the fake noise is very well done! And fun!

      Agree, adds a bit of fun and excitement to the experience 👍 But when driving daily it can be a bit much comparing it directly to the "all natural" sounds only.

    With fake sound: v12 like noise.
    Without fake sound: like a 90's or mid 2000's turbocharged performance car.
    So w/o fake sound is more better

      From the video i would say without is better, but its hard to tell how it actually sounds in the car. Is the sound still recorded in the engine and fed through the speakers?

      100% real sound is ALWAYS better.
      Doesn't matter what car it is or how "realistic" the fake sound is !! 🤮

    Interesting, I prefer it with the fake engine noise turned off! The sound of the intake and turbo is really quite cool, even if the engine itself is nothing special to listen to.

    Hey, I'm a bit late to the party, but have you maybe heard any difference of vibrations being more or less present with or without fake noise? If you go full throttle below 3k rpm in the yaris, I feel like some vibrations are generated by the active sound. Thanks

    • @magnus-thome
      @magnus-thome Před 3 lety

      @@mikeormond7883 You can disable all fake sounds totally with the Carista app. The fake sound is made up of a low bass tone plus added induction noise quite similar to the real induction noise but much louder. There is a rumour that a Toyota technician can adjust the level, not only have it fully off and on. Never saw proof of that though. I'm not sure this is what you asked about though, did I misunderstand your question?

      On or off, we reconize always the 3 cylinder, fo me it's that the real problem; when I get the car, I'll really want to improve the fake noise , for example with a 6 cylinder loud noise, and the GR will be perfect.....for me.

    • @KosmicKitchen
      @KosmicKitchen Před 2 lety

      I think you are right. There is a microphone in the engine bay (apparently) that transmits certain frequencies through the speakers. I must admit I like it better with the 'piped in' noise then without.
