Love your videos. Very real. Authentic. Thank you.
Ryan, Jessica, and Arya and one on the way..you guys are living my dream! You're an adorable family, and I wish you fair winds, sunshine, and blue seas! I explored the Abacos on a 24ft motor boat (center console rental). But you guys are doing it in style;-) Give Arya a hug and kiss for me! Looking forward to many more adventures with you guys! Stay blessed, and safe sailing!
love watching your videos over and over again..... it makes me relax after a hards day at the hospital....... it helps me releive stress.
Thank you, guys. May the wind always blow on your backs and Godspeed.
OMG! The water out there is beautiful. Looking forward to the next video. Yall be safe.
Nice to see y' all having a good time. Very relaxing to watch as a viewer.
Just have lots of fun guys be safe.
Guys...I loved watching you both and specially Aria🐶
Thanks for another great episode. Arya is one of the most adorable boat dogs I’ve ever seen! Fair winds and looking forward to the next one. //Steffi
Jessica and Ryan Adventures do I code? Please explain what you mean? I‘m not sure I understand...
lol. the // is used in a number of coding languages to denote a comment. a comment mean this text isn't code . its not uncommon to put an inline comment after some code. For instance:
var x = y + z; //this part is a comment and not code
your comment reminded me of that. lol
Aaaah! Haha... Thanks for the explanation ;-) So have you worked with coding or is it just a hobby?
Its my main job. I've worked professionally as an iPhone programmer for more than 10yrs now. But it gives me the opportunity to work remotely which is important for supporting our cruising life.
Cool spot, thanks for sharing
Arya is such an awesome dog.
Good job!
great video guys cheers
Great video
Loved this episode, Jessica and Ryan !! Great, casual and soooo pretty. You guys are truly making it. Hope you are feeling great, Jessica !! 😊🔆🏖💐🌸🌺🏝⛵️⚓️✨
Thanks for the comment! Jessica is doing well! A little limited sure, but in good health and spirits. :)
I only have a 12' and a 17' boats. I saw one Sail Boat in eBay that had a 90 horse on the back of it. It would fly through the water. Love your story.
Whoa
Love it
1:07 I see the little grass patch on the netting above the water for the doggie - and I was just wondering how he goes to potty while on the catamaran for long periods of time.
Great vlog guys. Lots of diversity
👍🇨🇦⚓️ enjoyed your journey for quit sometime now. Happy to see it come true 🌴
Great video guys, and congrats on the baby :) thanks and best from HKG
If you stop at Governor's Harbour on your way south, you might want to check out the pink sand French Leave Beach on the east side of Eleuthera and the abandoned Club Med destroyed in a 1990's hurricane
Compliments on the sound track.
Like the woo woo!
Lennie (my dog) is all ready for the Bahamas. Arya may love some 4-legged company. Also like the WOO-WOO!
Hi... Congrats on new drone. TIP... For smooth video slow down all your speeds - Camera rotate and tilt and drone movements as well as in up/down, rotate and forward/backwards as well and you will have smooth smooth beautiful video and the drone is easier to control - Good Luck,
Melvin C
Love your furry baby, so beautiful xx
The water is just sooo beautiful! Ari is a good companion for you kids. Speaking of kids, how is Jessica feeling and how does she handle her prenatal exams? Can't be too comfortable IF she has any morning sickness.Hopefully all is well inside and out for you both. Loving all of what you do.
The videos are a little more than a month behind real time. We're back stateside now. We timed the Bahamas trip between two exams. And we did one early and one late. But yeah our time there was sorta limited by the prenatal exams. But we did a lot in time we had. Jessica was actually lucky with almost zero morning sickness. The hardest thing was all the walking and bouncy dinghy rides. We had to limit them near the end of our trip. Aside from that, her being pregnant really didn't have a negative impact on the cruising at all.
Well that sounds great and we hope her good health and that of your baby's continues on through her birth. BTW when are kids due to become Mom & Dad?
Thanx for sharing! R U planning on living on your boat full time after your new crew member arrives? :~)
Yeah, we'll live in my parents house just before and after the birth. But then after a couple months we'll be going back to live full time on the boat. Should be interesting!
Love your vids :) Idea, could you make a video. Dog on a cat? Spesially longer voyage..? Happy sailing from norway .)
Nice update. What are your plans for hurricane season? Thanks for sharing. 😊⛵⛵⛵⛵😊👍👍👍👍
The videos are a little more than a month behind and we are actually back stateside now. We're in Charleston SC right now which is far enough north to make our insurance happy. We're probably moving up to NC in the next couple of weeks.
How cute the belly is popping out already 😉 God bless you guys.
You guys do a fantastic job ! Really looking forward to seeing Eleuthera !! Do you plan on going to The Exumas? We were in Marsh Harbor in Feb and went to Hopetown twice - next time rent a golf cart and take it down to a bar called On Da Beach or The Abaco Inn - spectacular!!!
Yup, Exumas are our main destination really for this trip. We're just getting there by way of the Abacos and Eleuthera. Next time we probably will rent more golf carts since we'll have baby in tow.
Looks like you handled the dog situation like a pro.
Thanks! I thought it went well. I could tell the other dog was slightly territorial but also not super aggressive. I made sure to let it know I was there, and I didn't want it sneaking up on Arya. She's really good and keeping dogs from getting too aggressive, so once her nose was in the situation I gave them a little space. But I knew I could intervene if I had to.
Do you guys live full time on the boat? Like the good folks at Tula's Endless Summer? I have always watched Tula's Endless Summer. But since finding you guys its nice to see some new blood. Love your puppy and boat. I am a watching!!!
Who makes the sunglasses that Jessica is wearing? Please and thanks!
Nice chart graphics, especially the ⛵️ one. Is this special software or a plugin.
That drone has very nice video quality. Which one did you get?
I really like your four legged 2nd mate!! would love to her share some thoughts regarding this whole sailing thang. Aren't they talkers like husks?
lol, Arya loves islands, she likes the boat and she tolerates sailing. Except for beating into the wind and waves when sailing against the wind. She doesn't like that and has gotten seasick a couple of times. But we think she thinks its worth it to be able to run around off leash on islands.
Hi, enjoy your videos. Are u guys still in Spanish Wells?
The videos are a little more than a month behind. So we're actually back stateside now.
Looks like ur having a great time. What happened to all of the projects? I remember you gutting the master head. What's the status on that?
Yeah, the projects got put on hold, well on 95% hold, while we're in the Bahamas. Things were functional but ugly. The videos are a little behind real time. We're actually back stateside now and doing a lot of the "make it pretty" refit now. We'll be sure to show it when we the videos get that far. :)
What month was this filmed? The weather seems great!
Good video guys. The FPV camerawork was pretty shaky , maybe a gimbal will help u out in capturing better footage. Good Luck
Hi Ryan...of course I like the videos. What's not to like. Good job on the landing of the drone and did something fall off? I want to be your dog! WOOF! Please tell me what the blue painting tape is on one the engine starting panels! PEACE OUT! Ü
lol, yeah, my phone was serving as the view finder for flying the drone, it feel off the remote and unplugged so I had to land the drone by sight, which you kinda do anyway. also the tape is just to tone down the low oil pressure alarm. That bugger is insanely loud.
Você princesa e muito linda bonita
You guys ever run into Billy and Sierra on the Adrenaline? Your boat is much nicer and larger. Gorgeous puppy. What's its name?
We never did run into them. I think we just missed each other. But we'd definitely like to meet up with them at some point. They seem super cool.
How's the interior going? When are you going to show us the changes?
Interior work mostly got put on pause in the Bahamas. We did a little, but we wanted to play on the boat before hurricane season came. But we'll 100% come back around to it in the videos and show you all the improvements we've been making.
Is your mast unpainted?
Just curious, when do you guys kick on the engine(s)? For us it's pretty much anything less than 3.5-4kts of boat speed, but we've had a hard time limit (baby on the way).
Jessica and Ryan Adventures
If the SOG is less than 5 knts. You should be on beam reach in that area most of the time. Cat goes well on beam reach. They usually do not like close haul and do not go less than 45-50 degrees into the wind. I wonder if you do not have wind at all there at this time. We went to Bahamas in winter - spring only and almost all the time had nice easterly 15-20 knts.
We had a period of a week there where we had almost no wind. The videos are a bit behind but you'll see once we get to the Exumas we did indeed get on a beam reach most of the time and got some really nice sailing in. Also, I pinched as much as I could and we can sail 35-45 degree zone into the wind but we have to have everything dialed in just right. But yeah, more than 35 is pretty much impossible. I might try some "in-hauls" some time to see if I cant keep the speed up at 30 degrees. But I won't hold my breath.
The Dashews motored whenever below 5kts. OTH, there are cruisers who take more than 2 months for the Puddle Jump (refused to motor in ITCZ, in no rush). All depends on your urgency, how much diesel you carry/want to burn, noise tolerance, how many hours you want to add on to the engines etc. Make sure your bottoms are clean, fouled bottoms easily 1/2 kt if not more. I noticed you don't have folding/feathering props, possibly 1-2kt hit.
It all depends. We are bareboat charters on a pretty tight schedule. Beating the crowds to anchorage determines my SOG. Or... if I see a sail on my stern... engines on!
