@Gedd84 I'm Polish so Russian sounds Russian to me :) Russian is a beautiful and rich language. I would love to learn it. As a kid we had Russian at school but we didn't want to learn it because it was the language of our occupier. We would just speak Polish mimicking the Russian accent and the teachers would give us bad notes for this but enough to proceed to the next class. But I always used to love Russians writers (Bulhakow) and song-makers (Окуджава)
A Japanese living in USA,To my ears Russian language is so beautiful,specially in songs, I love America very much,yet I love Russian music,now I am studying Russian,very difficult language but I am enjoying it and this site . спасибо
@magauchsein I am french/American, speak spanish and chinese and some italian, but have never really loved a language that much, russian is interesting!! This is the perfect way, translation, phonetics and cyrillic......You NEED to make more, im learning so fast
The stress and cadence of voiced vowels like the deep 'o' sound, the way the 'e=ye' like the word 'den' and also 'eto', sound and mean like how they speak in the dutch caribbean, papiamentu.( Its is for the large part broken spanish/portuguese really.. but the pronunciation of stressed vowels are surprisingly similar if you listen close). i.e. /watch?v=XdCOCCPjxGI
I am North American and also know some Russian. Just want you to know that your lessons seem to come across quite clearly and concisely. It would be pleasurable to use recordings like these to refresh my Russian.
@jityr2 please try to understand it: I earn money allowning the advertisement on my channel. It's annoying, I do agree but I hope you take it with patience when I tell you that I got money for that.

I am trying to learn russian by my self what is very difficult because i have noone to help me with the pronunciation of the word. This guide is so wonderful. Thanks for post it. I have great difficult to learn the sound of letter with ь ъ in the end and how to palatize the word.
@Gedd84 I am Serbian and Russian sounds very similar. I have been in Russia and I have impression that we feel each other as the belonging to same people in despite of the linguistic differences. A few months are enough and at once when you explain your Serbian origin you are "svoj mezdu svoimi". Old name for Serbia was Rascia " i v Nestorovoj letopisi Ruskie priehali iz za Dunaja iz Bulgarov i Serbov. i "svoj mezdu svoimi".
@MyUnderSlungLink If you pronounce it the way it's written you'll be understood. Unstressed "А" and "О" aren't differentiated much. Same deal with unstressed "Е" and "И". Pronounce every unstressed "О" as "А" to get the Moscow accent.
@MyUnderSlungLink Bad news; Russian stress is pretty irregular and unpredictable. However, you can look the word up in a good dictionary or reference grammar where the stress will be clearly marked. Putting in accents to mark stress is customary for Russian textbooks, since obviously a foreigner would have no way of knowing where they are without help.
for me it' so strange "пожалуйста" is 'please' and 'you're welcome' at the same time. if one day I'll speak russian perfectly, I think I would only use "не зашто" as 'you're welcome'... "не зашто" is more similar to what we use in my language.
could u please tell me about rosetta stone, like does it really help u learn a good deal of a language, and is it worth the $500 or so?and how good does ur brother speak Russian from livin there only 2 years?
I listen this video at my office everyday since like 2 weeks ago at least 20 times daily...Now i know each one of this words with that lady's accent :P
@dazzini82 It is very common to find pretty women in Russia. There is even that city, Novosibirsk I guess, which was awarded the city with the highest pretty women per capta in the world! LOL!!
yeah? 150 million is not enough for you? and how many people speak Latin? 0! they might teach it in school or the catholic church might say some phrases of it, but thats it! and u cant tell me latin sounds cooler than Russian neither!

@MyUnderSlungLink ,
When the o is unstressed, it is pronounced like an a as in "ball," or o as in "not." It all depends on the stress.
That Russian girl is pretty.
@MyUnderSlungLink
