  • The Johor-Singapore special economic zone is taking firmer shape, with both Singapore and Malaysia undertaking a feasibility study to determine interest from investors and market demand. Both sides hope to sign an agreement on the SEZ next January. At the 10th Singapore-Malaysia Leaders' Retreat, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his counterpart Anwar Ibrahim also expressed confidence that the third land link between the neighbours is on track for completion in three years.

It’s good to see both Malaysia and Singapore moving forward to improve relations by working together and leaving the past behind
Edit : As a Singaporean Myself ,I mean what I have said above. As long as both nations and leaders / representatives of the respective nations can come to agreements and settle whatever issues / disagreements that there may be politically / historically /culturally and so , Peace can and will be achieved .
Second Edit: in addition to what I have said above, this can say the same for both Israeli-Palestine conflict and the Russian-Ukraine war and any other wars that may happen in future.

TMK Johor (Crown Prince Johor) was interviewed by KJ on collaborative efforts between Singapore and Johor two nights back. He must have known Federal Govt's (Anwar's) support for the collaboration between the two as he was pretty confident on Federal Govt's support for Johor's projects. The election of his father as Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia must have added some pressure to Anwar to make some decisions. Is it too early to say good times for Singapore-Johor collaboration in the next 5 years? Wait and see.

We had a much better plan before, the growth triangle that include Indonesia. But that failed miserably big time. Talk is OK, but dont proceed, until Malaysia can discard their bumiputra policy and mindset. That mindset must blind them and must hurt the cooperation in no time. Anwar is a transient occurance, not the stable state of the normal Malaysia.

The lesser the Malaysian's come to Singapore for work, the better it is in terms of vehicular and human jams during the peak hours

On longer term, it will actually benefit Singapore as a whole and not just Malaysia, remember, SG is always constraint by its land size and the easiest way to solve this issue is leverage on Johor's land, where factories can be expanded to MY (where a lot of SG companies currently does) and good can be flow to MY - in the long term it will benefit SG as a trade hub as well as financial hub too

Sekian Terimakasih.

Before we switch pronouns, he should first explain why he and his cabinet colleagues say “I, me mine” when it comes to their million-dollar salaries and “us, we and ours” when it comes to the people having to live with biting inflation.
