Beginners Trek near Mumbai "SONDAI FORT" | Karjat | Best Monsoon Trek near Mumbai | Morbe Dam

Sondai Fort Trek is one of the easiest treks in Maharashtra. Sondai can be done during Monsoon but there is one small rock patch where one needs to be careful while traversing.
Difficulty: Easy (Even beginners can do it)
Best time to Visit: All Round the year (especially during monsoon)
Total Distance: Around 2 Km
Sondai fort trek is a situated around 9 km from Karjat in Raigad district. It was built close to the Karjat and Matheran mountain ranges.
Sondai Fort was built so that it could act as a watchtower for surveillance of nearby areas. It gets its name because of the presence of temple of Goddess of Sondai, at the top of the mountain.
Sondai fort trek has an easy trail and takes approximately an hour to reach the fort. The trail becomes a bit hard during monsoon as the rock steps become slippery.
Sondai Fort has 3 Ladders right before the summit. The second ladder is the longest and offers the best views!
It offers a beautiful view of Morbe Dam, Prabalgad, Irshalgad, Rajmachi, Songiri forts, Karnala Fort, and Matheran mountain range.
Cost:
Mumbai to Karjat Train: Approx ₹50 (return journey)
Karjat to Borgaon Fata sharing cab: ₹40 (return journey)
Total: ₹90
You can also take a sharing cab from Borgaon Fata to Sondai base (if available) : Approx ₹60 for return journey.

अच्छी जानकारी. धन्यवाद. बोरगाव से सोंडाई जाते समय एक जगह लेफ्ट टर्न है जो नदी के पास ले जाता है। पूल पार करतेही दाये का ट्रेक माथेरान के रामबाग पॉइंट ले जाएगा। रामबाग से माथेरान रे स्टे ढाई किमी, दस्तुरी और ढाई किमी.. मजा आता है।
