- Siren test in Hameln, Germany on September 10, 2020. At 11 o'clock a rising and falling tone sounded for about 1 minute. The all-clear followed at 20 minutes later with a 1-minute continuous tone.

They test this once a year in my village and the goddamn siren is on my roof, right above my room. Always nice when you're not prepared for it lmfao. After a few years of the good old regular alarms I just don't mind them much anymore but this tone in particular is just scary every year

They're slightly detuned from each other so that the sound warbles horrendously and makes it seem louder than it actually is.
It’s a style of linear diffraction horn so it is very effective and is more noticeable I believe.

In my village in Czech Republic they sometimes accidentaly play this tone, it's really scary, our test sound should be one long tone without stoping. :-D

in germany i hear this everyday, and tbh, if there would be an actual disaster then i'd just think that it's a test.
Im visiting germany, and i woke up at 5pm hearing this blasting and echoing the whole town. In these times you should not test a fucking war siren at 5pm in the morning without saying its a test wtf.
@@sixtensettergren3202 i know right? It's so annoying. I would just be vibing and then all of the sudden this thing goes off, loud asf (obviously) and then you just kinda have to listen to it for 5-10 minutes before it gets turned off.

Starting from 22:00 you cant do anything anymore.
So if you hear something like that during the night be prepared.

I live in HSK and I live in a small village with our main city not far away from us. I don't know if our village has a siren but our city sure does. Also theres another village on the other side of the forest (so its basically just a large hill between the two villages). I remember that I was outside with my family and then a siren not to far away from us. And I was like "de fuq is this? Did we accedently start another war?" But my family said everything is fine cause its just a test.
Btw. the alarm started at around 11am

Here in Austria they test Sirens every Saturday in every state except vienna at 12pm

Central ohio tests their sirens every Wednesday at noon. Other cities sometimes only test once a month. Every couple years, America does a nationwide test.

U.S never does a nationwide siren test. Towns have their own schedules to test their sirens. The time you might be thinking is the SWA month or Severe Weather Awareness. That’s a nationwide required severe weather drill but many states and towns set off their sirens at different times. For example, Wisconsin does a SWA tornado drill siren activation on a Thursday but idk what Thursday of the month tho, and Illinois does a tornado drill SWA siren activation during the regular first Tuesday at 10AM schedule in March but the only thing different about that test is that most of the state sounds the sirens for 3 minutes like they would in a real emergency and there is also an EAS activation with the tornado drill message

They use this siren for tsunami warning in Norway.
In my hometown they test this alarm every Wednesday at 3pm.
They play these like every other week man I got used to it but in the middle of like watching live videos sucks but like if there is ever a real one nobody is gonna believe it

Auch in Goldbach und im Landkreis Aschaffenburg waren die Sirenen aktiv.
Dort wo es Sirenen auf den Dächern gab waren sie Aktiv .
