I work as a firefighter and my captain is a women who has been a firefighter since the mid 80's. The stories she has about the discrimination she faced in of the profession over the years have honestly made me such a better man.

An old family friend is a Black woman firefighter and rose to the highest ranks. She experienced not only sexism but racism that we call misogynoir. She's the only one I have ever seen in San Diego, CA. I actually haven't really even met or seen a Black male firefighter here either.

I’m a woman and worked in a pulp and paper mill, operating cranes and moving 40 tonne rolls of paper, plus a lot of heavy work…..19 years…….so proud of u!!! There were only 7 women in a mill of 1500 men……..I was the first one hired there……I went through so much harassment there and discrimination it was unreal….I should write a book actually…….watch the Movie North Country ….then u will see 30% of the crap I put up with
I took a job at a steel shop when I was about 24 (my best years, lol). I'm 5'2". At the time, I was about 130 lbs, but it was all in the right places. God I miss that. Anyways, There was only 1 other woman who worked there, and she LIKED being the only woman, so she was not friendly!

I see what your saying, but as a woman familiar with physical labor, I promise you, working at a steel mill is NOT something most ladies wanna do, especially with a huge butt and boobs weighing them down. I admire her for her strength and endurance. But this feminist mentality of “women are the same as men” is not reality. Lots of women are strong and can do physical labor. But most don’t want to do that, and most are not as strong as men. Our bodies are physically different. Nothing wrong with that, and I support ladies who choose traditionally masculine careers. But these women are in the minority. I’m just as surprised to see a women with that level of plastic surgery in a career like steel milling. And just like the doctors, I think it’s super cool.

I'm annoyed that I'm watching a compilation of two men sitting there shocked at a woman's body in the context of "She's a lawyer? I can't believe it." Or, "She does heavy manual labour? Looking like that?"
Look, if they said that having a large butt and boobs made it difficult to work - and maybe it would for her because she just left an operating room one day with a lot more load on her body - but it felt like the men were oogling at these women.
Everything the girls said was a big fuss. It was probably for television, but I found it condescending. It probably represents just how much I dislike how some men talk to me. I hate when they act like I'm incredibly delicate or bring my breasts or butt into the conversation. I was getting the same vibes when those women were being objectified. It was probably for TV to boost ratings but I hated that the common theme of the video was more less objectifying women.

I'm a 4'9" lady. I'd love to be taller, have a smaller nose and small breast implants but none of that is ever going to happen. I have learnt to appreciate my good bits, live a healthy life and not stress about what can't be changed. These "previous" people need to learn that beauty can't be bought.

I’m a straight woman who keeps my head shaved. I started in 1997. I could care less what people say about me. I never had an issue with it until I move back to the Nashville Tennessee area. I left when I was a kid. I grew up in the Charlotte North Carolina area and nobody seem to care. But in Tennessee it seems to affect everything. Even job hunting. I’m never going to grow my hair back out because I like super short hair. I know it’s not for everybody but I also know people are always going to have assumptions about me that are false. I think that’s why I don’t really deal with people very much.

I hope Lauren had successful results to soften her outer appearance. To be honest due to her voice I thought she was maybe a trans woman but I see that is not the case. I am genuinely curious if other woman who are body builders also have more masculine male sounding voices and if so does any one know why that happens?
I think steroids can cause the voice to deepen.

They do if they take steroids. Testosterone has that effect on female vocal chords, and unfortunately, it’s permanent. Compare her voice to women who have transitioned to “male”, it’s the same thing.
I am a women with a deep voice. I had a deep ambiguous voice my entire adolescence to adulthood. It deepened naturally after putting muscle on in the last 3 years, but not in the way that hers is. I believe steroids are causing the rasp or croaking in her voice. If a deep voice is natural it should be smooth, but bassy. At least in women.
