@Andrew Mitchell I am aware. Lol played that game for sooo many hours. I just loved the nostalgia and the mix.
First I saw that Greg was installing the two RAM sticks side-by-side and I was like "What?!" and then the next scene showed that the PC originally had 4 sticks. What a roller coaster ride!
Please never stop this series! It may not get as many views as Fix or Flop, but it's so satisfying to watch & it motives some of us to clean our own rig

It's good that you're doing deep cleaning it's a nice change of pace compared to fix or flop :)
It's also a good reminder for people to clean their rigs regularly. You could probably add in comments on what the effects of dust buildup can have, as well as how to avoid that using filters etc

Two 140 mm intake pure wings 2 fans for quiet airflow. I put a used dryer sheet on the intake to collect the dust and make cleaning easy. Inspired laziness.
Oh the system in the video looks nice. But would prefer mesh front case. Would be proud to own this with that caveat.

man this really reminded me I need to clean my system. WOO season 4!
I have one of these old 510 cases and the intake is so tiny, if it gets clogged (probably directly on carpet) it can get an insane negative pressure system which is why so much dust was pulled in on the right side of the case. At 2:57 you can see it on the side of the power supply. This is more than just a year of dust but what a transformation!

I have that same case and I'm always cleaning it. It's a dust magnet.

I've never taken a working computer completely apart for cleaning.
Usually take them outside and use compressed air blow the dust out.

The days gonna come where it goes from a deep cleaning into a fix or flop.
Would have reoriented the top fan as an intake because the front fans have to pull air through tiny gaps. Positive pressure would keep this rig a lot less dusty in the long run and as it is set up with the two unobstructed fans now, is effectively keeping it negative pressure meaning it will keep sucking in and settling dust over all the components you just cleaned. Just a little tip
The AMD logo on that Wraith cooler is part of a snap-on ring that attaches to the fan. You can carefully remove it and rotate it 90 degrees so the logo is on top; I did it with mine
So therapeutic.

However satisfying cleaning that may be, it would take forever to do so the way you do it
What I would like to see done on PC/DC is taking a performance test, i.e. temps, speeds, what have you, before and after cleaning just to show how much keeping your system clean helps. Although I understand not wanting someone else's dust and filth floating around your office just to take some readings. Still I would like to see it once.
Decent front ventilation that is filtered would fix most of that PC's issues. Must have been negative pressure, so pulled in air from ever nook and cranny

Alright, I got a couple of questions about the cleaning process.
Can you safely clean components like this with a blower? What about a handheld vacuum, similar to this blower, but with a container for dust? Isn't static discharge a problem? Do the components have to be taken apart and disconnected from the motherboard?
Please, educate me a little bit on this topic, because cleaning a PC with something like this would be a lot easier. Thank you.

I'm also a fan of Fix or Flop, however I miss the old "Science Studio" where you would try some wacky combos. Putting a 980 Ti with a FX processor to see what kind of bottleneck were looking at.

Of the two series it's hard to say which I like the most. The PCDC is satisfying in a different way from Fix or Flop, but both are enjoyable and satisfying. Although not really technical, PCDC is deeply satisfying. Perhaps it's a personal preference, some people don't seem to care as much if things are neat, clean and well ordered. Those that really do, likely love the PCDC play list. Kudos, BTW for reinstalling the front fans with the logos oriented the same way. I noticed that first thing when you were touring the PC before cleaning. That's what I mean, some people would not even notice and if they did, wouldn't care. Me, it would irritate me every time I saw it.
I like your videos, but I do have some pointers / suggestions which I believe it could improve such service and things that are a bit obvious. The first thing is when you put the pc case on the floor to dismantle it, there should had been something underneath such as a cloth or a bedsheet which is easily obtainable even a bad one could do the trick so therefore you won't scratch the case, second thing I would like to point out that instead of wash it with water you could easily use a leaf blower or a vacuum with brush which would do the same outcome and you won't risk of having the case wet in some " cracks or holes " where the parts will be and that will result in risking on short on some parts, Third thing is that when you put the parts on the floor your also risking on shorting it since the floor itself is a conductor, and if one of the caps are still charged you could short out the board and ruin it, but at the end I like the result and it looks like brand new, but in my opinion you should try to maybe change the method to a better one, Regards

Hey you might want to look into either air conditioning or radiator fin combs. Might help with cleaning and fixing bent cooler fins.
Fix or flop has been a tremendously enlightening and enjoyable subject form. In spite of my own comments which may make you feel differently, I love to watch and learn what these issues turn out to be. Thanks As to the video at hand, this could be greatly simplified by using a blower on the PC before disassembly and while sitting outside. Then, all is left is the detail cleaning.

I love PCDC, always good to see some dirty PCs getting cleaned. One of these days I'm going to bring my PC to Orlando, it hasn't been cleaned in a while. No creepy crawlies though.
I think he requests that you live in Orlando, unless you have up to a week (or more) to spare. PCDC or Fix or Flop can take quite a while, from what I’ve heard from other videos.

Great job Greg. Everything looked brand new to me. Really a beautiful piece of work.
This video showcases why I won't buy one of these cases or any case like it. No airflow. That rear cable area looked like that because the front fans are starved and pulling air from the area behind the cable tray to feed them. Even if the filter on the bottom wasn't dirty, the size of the opening allowed for air intake on those front fans is nowhere near enough. So the exhaust fans will pull unfiltered air in through the back panel. The dirtyness of this system is the result of a negative pressure system.
That owner should mod the case and put a filtered grill on the front close to the same size as his front fans. He should also clean his filters at least twice a year... LOL
Greg its the same some of those that wouldn't boot were pretty dirty and needed cleaning to i cant ever let my pc get dusty its not good
