- 4 years in a barn, just sitting, collecting mice. I can't believe a car this new can sit for so long. Let's bring it back to life!

While everyone is probably arguing about engine swaps, I'm just admiring how satisfying this detail job is. Motivates me to do something like this with my own car.
Also big kudos to the video editors. They kill it every time and makes it feel that much more special.
So many channels attempting this these days with slow panned shots and close up cuts but it always feels forced or contrived. No shot felt out of place here, just the right amount of everything.
It takes a real talent to shoot video these days that is slow, yet somehow still holds your attention. Especially in the tiktok era of video form content lol. @@user-oj7co5wm8g
99% its gon be a K series
@@Tofu_Slayer you know what? I really like the K-series, don't get me wrong, but I wonder what an RX8 would feel like to drive with an NC 2.0L N/A engine, or even the Mazda3 MPS 2.3L turbo... Just as an experiment. Given that the RX8 and the NC chassis share some similarities (from what I've heard), is that even possible?
I think a gm v6 swap
As a long term RX8 owner…watching an RX8 on a major automotive channel being brought to life..feels like your kid is graduating college and going off to the real world….so proud
Agreed! I own a 2005 Shinka Edition in the Black Cherry Mica color and am getting close to finishing the project(s) and seeing this series and how well this one is coming out really makes me feel like a proud parent
RX-8 owners unite! I just bought an '08 40th anniversary edition and am learning manual in it!
@svgPhoenix A 40th was my first Rx8 definitely keep it as it's supposed to be the rarest rx model in terms of production definitely a collectors car
@@svgPhoenixoh man, I remember learning manual in my '05 when I first got it like 8 years ago; I did the noob thing and forgot my handbrake on, fried my clutch disk so hard, it cracked into pieces 😂😂😂
How many different editions are there? Seems like they had a lot
I've been waiting for this since the WRX cleaning. Automotive aesthetic is such a cool part of your channel and I'm glad you guys work together and feature them pretty often.
It always makes me happy to see a rotary car running in the wild. You picked one hell of a car to restore, but this brought a genuine smile to my face seeing this one getting a second chance. Love how it came out.
Spoiler alert. I don’t think Ben will keep that Rotary engine. I mean, his FD didn’t, and he had a K engine laying around in his garage.
yeah and its a shame i mean for what reason you buy a rotary car to just throw away the best aspect the rotary engine and build in something else i mean sure the rotary engine needs much much love and maintanence but it gives back just such an awesome feeling to drive
@@jmccarsnmore1025 As much as I'd understand that from a reliability and ease of service perspective, it'd suck hard to see yet another rotary car have its guts ripped out just to make it more like everything else.
I'm not the one doing the work, so I can't judge, but there's a reason people come out of the woodwork openly asking G&G to preserve what this car is in some way or another.
@@mitchell-wallisforce7859 I’m honestly surprised they kept the blue RX8 with a Rotary engine. And I’m happy for it!!
@@jmccarsnmore1025 Same here, though to me it's a shame they had to use another RX8 to do it. Can't stop me from moaning, I guess lol
I detailed for over 14 years, retiring 12 years ago, and the end result of the RX-8 almost makes me want to get back into the business. I loved playing with cars every day and getting paid to do it, but the constant joint and muscle pain I was in at the end was just too much. It’s good to see these young men taking care of their bodies with PPE, safe chemical handling, proper lifting techniques, and fluid, relaxed motion-four things I never practiced, and of which I still experience the ill effects. Detailing is the most disrespected and under-appreciated segment of the auto industry-I have been told many times by customers that my rates are too high because “it’s not that hard to clean a car” (to which I responded, “then why did you not do it yourself?”). I encourage every detailer to value themselves in how they do their work, in the fee they charge for their expertise, and in the customers they choose to work for.
Beautiful work. Those before/after cuts were so seamless!
Wish they had engine bay shots
This video was actually emotional to watch. When so many other things in life aren't going well and are so difficult to put right, it is extremely satisfying to see a car that was in such a state to turn out so well.
I've been a rotary nut for years and I currently have 2 RX8's. I bought one of them last summer in similar condition to this car. Only 76k miles but it had been sitting for years. I spent a few weeks cleaning and detailing and the results were nothing short of amazing. It's good to see RX8's finally starting to get some love. While the original motor leaves something to be desired, the chassis is amazing and there's a lot you can do with it. With a few basic reliability mods the original motor will treat you well as long as you stay on top of maintenance. If you prefer a swap then theres a ton of options available. There's no wrong answer imo.
I've always wanted an RX8, or a rotary in general but have zero experience with them. It's on my list though, I definitely want to dig into one
@@RustedRides If anything, take the opportunity to drive one. At least once. They may not be the most impressive spec wise, or the most reliable cars on the planet. But they certainly aren't the least either. They really are just fun, and I suppose that's why idiots like me love both the Rx8, and why myself and many others love the Mx5. I think those two cars, the Rx7, and the 86/BRZ, or even a base model Civic from the 90s, really go to show that you don't need a billon hp to have fun like so many on the internet make it seem. All you need is a somewhat light and rigid chassis, and an engine that loves to rev.
So many people write off a car because they aren't as fast as a Supercar. And all people seem to now focus on is numbers on a sheet of paper.
Personally I think Mazda nearly always nail driving experience in all their cars.
RX - 8 design look timeless ❤
I have said it before and I’ll say it again: the G&G channel has the best production quality around. Always great shots, pans, up-close. The before and after cuts were *chef’s kiss*, too.
You know, if Daniel were still here..He would be so proud to be the part in this restoration.. RIP Daniel..
The slow, methodical level of detail and results on the RX8 make this one of my favorite all time G&G episodes. I learned a couple of things about detailing but mainly just enjoyed following the process.
They did a decent job, however they didn't pull the carpet out and pressure wash it, pull the console, and mostly did nothing to address the mouse debris that is certainly within the HVAC duct work. Otherwise it's a normal detail.
It's always a good day when an automotive aesthetic video comes up on your channel!
You guys did some magic with the shots and editing. Congrats. It was amazing to watch.
Having halo reach flashbacks with that ending, I can’t use words to describe the emotions I’m feeling right now. Great work you guys!
I’m so glad you guys are doing a Rx8. I was one of the first out there modifying these. Had a Pettit Racing Supercharger on mine. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Those superchargers are extremely rare now.
I commented earlier about the same exact thing or maybe after you but I didn't read all the comments a couple years back I don't know 5 years or so I was really motivated to get a daily driven rear-wheel drive six speed and this exact Rx8 was my top choice amongst others same year color and trim RB3 Blue Rx8 and i wanted thenPettit Supercharger and they were out of business and they are super rare to find and from what I have learned it's usually not a good idea to buy used superchargers the roots or lobe style type
@@Steel5xchampS Indeed. I will probably turbo eventually. I have my adaptronic ecu. I'm waiting to see what Kyle Mohan is doing with the Hybrid Renesis build though. I would like to try that more than anything.
13:35 those transitions show you guys can STILL impress me and improve. I was stunned.
I LOVE these detailing videos with Automotive Aesthetic!! They're always so satisfying.
we need to preserve this model. Keep them alive pls!
I always thought it wasn’t a good idea to hit the dirt and dust up with a pressure washer first and use something like a hose to take off a majority of the initial grime to keep from scratching, etc.
Absolutely awesome barn find!
The 13:18- 13:24 clip gave me Forza showroom vibes. Awesome job guys! Can't wait for more updates on the build!
Man, the after shots of this car would have been killer RX8 promo back in the day. Excellent job as always
i LOVE the Rx8 ...
Loved this. I have owned a 2009 R3 (in white) in the UK for the past 10 years. So good to see this one being given a second life.
Good Lord, Whoever edited and produced the video, and chose the music, Bravo. VERY Well done. Both passion and emotion are conveyed, but still subdued. Love it.
Huge night and day difference between tall ben and short ben. Short ben always putting quality videos
Why I feel in love with this channel, your camera work is Exquisite
I’ve been wanting an rx8 forever I think I’m finally gonna pull the trigger after watching this.
This spec is exactly the same as the one I always wanted. Either a blue R3 or that really pretty dark purple color the Shinka came in. I love these cars, I know they’ve got their issues but these things are still so cool
I love the blue! We've been thinking of a car that we could paint with that amazing metallic red that Mazda has out right now. I was thinking it would look amazing on an RX8, and suited since it's a Mazda
One of the greatest cars I ever owned. Well done lads ❤
The last shot...awesomely good. ❤
That is absolutely beautiful!!
The Automotive Aesthetic team is outstanding!
Omg the violins and headlights
Gotta love the 80s vibes at the start and always ending on the heavenly themes!
Shout out to the editors in this one, flawless. And shout out to AA they’re an inspiration to me as an amateur detailer
14:21 reminds me of the Forza loading menu when you are about to select a car, great video!
This was one of the best transformations I’ve ever seen, I watch videos on a couple different channels and rivals the best outcomes.
You guys NEED to remove the dash and gain access to the HVAC/climate control underneath, especially if there is evidence of mice or bugs in the car. Removing the mold and cleaning the carpets is one thing, but you could have dead mice in your evaporator housing, air ducting, or blower housing, and without removing everything, you cannot be sure there isn't a health hazard inside those spaces. I've owned 2 cars that were infested, and both times required the COMPLETE removal of the entire interior to clear out bug/mouse corpses and fully sanitize everything.
Didn’t realize who these guys were until I saw the shop Woodness Goodness built on his channel. Brooo that’s sweet.
The RX8 R3, in this color is such a beauty!
Having worked in detailing shops in the past, it is always the most satisfying to see just how far a car can come back to life with some time, effort, and knowing how to use whatever equipment you have on hand. This thing looks amazing, and I can't wait to see Ben enjoying every moment of driving it........ after the engine gets situated properly that is.
Gears and gasoline episodes are always movies! Video quality and editing are amazing. You guys need your own tv show lol
This car is just gorgeous
The editing and shots were amazing! Props to whoever did them!
Id love to see yall keep the rotary in it
the blue looks fantastic
Automotive Aesthetic doesn't mess around. They are the truth. 😊
The RX8 overall design aged well looks better than most cars in the market right now
I had a 04 rx8 about 10 years ago and hand over heart this video took me back regardless of the rotary’s endless issues lol
Always such satisfying videos to watch! The level of detail and the care and knowledge these guys have is amazing!
Agreed! It's great watching them work! I hope my videos can get to this level one day haha!
madly satisfying to see a transformation of this caliber
Night and day! Love the music and the chill vibe of this video! Brilliant work on both sides.
Stunning work as always from AA. Genuinely glad they're still doing their thing.
G&G restoration & detailing takes on another level compared to other main channel for this kind of job. + Its an RX-8, a very underratted car that is left behind by enthusiasts .Love it!
You guys put out excellent videos 👌🏼
I really do enjoy these
You guys are keeping Daniel’s dream alive
Great work guys it's a credit to you 👏...As someone who takes pride in looking after his car and daily this was so satisfying to watch 😅 great video and editing on this
the music playing in the looks brand new portion makes this feel so emotional and cathartic lmao
One of the best edits by you guys, especially the latter half
This video was so beautiful. Made this car and detail appear to be the work of art
This video is a work of art!
I have seen and have been detailing for more than 30 yrs. and these guys are very good!!!
Something about blue on this car just looks so right. I'm pretty jealous of Thorn lol
I absolutely love every episode on te RX8 so far, and those detailing vids are soooo satisfying🙏🏻
They did an awesome job ‼️
i love the videography you guys do, very well done. happy holidays!
Wow! What a transformation!! She looks like a brand new car!! Great job and great rescue!🙏👌😎👍
So satisfying. Really enjoyed this one guys! Also awesome editing to show the before and after at the end
So satisfying, makes me want to clean my car.
Congrats on the car, the detailing, the photography and the edition all mixed for a 10 /10 video
really good editing. subtle stuff here and there but it really shows. great woork. also the camera work on this one is nice. curios on how you guys shoot each episode. maybe some bts with the whole crew and walk us through your entire process? thanks!
Exactly my comment a few minutes ago, great filming, playing with angles and focus and perfectly put together.
Dude this looks like a car "That Dude in Blue" would drive, but it does look good.
Looks absolutely beautiful after that detailing service. Good job to the guys at Automotive Aesthetic.
Rx8s look so good and that blue makes it pop more
from the bottom of my heart. i thankyou for restoring the color of this rx8. i wish i can come to your shop and be your life long go to for detailing. but i live in south east asia rip. thankyou once again. this video really sooth my soul
So satisfying to watch! I really love the spec of this car. Great color, wheels, seats, etc. I want it!
This is awesome, I saw the ad for it on FB market place, for a great deal! Cool to see that you guys bought it!
This is the type of video which got me started with G&G, Amazing!
love the before/after transitions!
this is so therapeutic, I had to rewatch it a few times
Deep cleaning videos will never get boring, super satisfying to watch and very nice outcome. Great job!
So satisfying to watch, great job!
Wow !!! Such a fantastic job, with the video and the car detailing!!!!!!!
Ozone machines are so cool. Used one on a project that smelled really awful, just like this. A few short hours and it had zero smells afterwards. It's like a magical reset.
I always loved the design of these RX8’s with the long hood and aggressive stance. My nephew is 15 and he just bought one. I’m gonna make sure he sees this video.
Car detail videos are so damn satisfying! Great job!
Great video and so satisfying to watch, good job!
Love the fade in of b4 and after car looks great already 👍
Absolutely loved this. I can't wait to see it on the track
Brilliant job lads. As always, exceptional workmanship.
