I'm a vegetarian and all places provide for vegetarians. All he had to do was ask around. It is very insulting not to respect her wish. She has most likely been a vegetarian all of her life and has no desire for meat. Matter of fact, there are some excellent Chinese vegetarian restaurants in the US.
If I lived on vegan diet, I would be half my weight and not able to survive. I seriously do not know how they do it, I'd do nothing but eating veggies and fruit all day without rest to compensate the good meat, eggs, cheese and fish.
