What My American Dad Really Thought About Vietnam

- In this travel vlog, I interview my dad about his trip to Vietnam, and ask him what he really thought about visiting this country.
Over the course of about two and a half weeks, we stayed in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and Hanoi, and also visited Ninh Binh.
I ask my dad about his favorite experiences here and his overall impressions. I also ask him about some things that he didn’t quite like about Vietnam as well. I then ask if it’s a country he would be willing to visit again, and perhaps a country he would consider living in.
I also got him to give the trip and overall Dank Rank Review.
Overall, I had an amazing time with my dad here. I think he was courageous and open to trying so many things while he was here. Living half way across the world, we don’t often get the opportunity to spend time together, so it was really a blessing to have him here. These are memories that I will cherish forever, and memories that I’m really glad I was able to record and also share with all of you.

Next time, bring your dad to Da Nang it’s a great city not congested and clean . I’m sure you’ve been there, but I’ve been living there for five years.
Your dad is in excellent shape for someone almost 60! Tell him to come back and do food tours in Hanoi, I think he'd really like 'em. Try a 2-3 different people/companies and see what they show you as far as food (you can tell them to show you the best/favorite foods, most popular foods, etc.). If he's adventurous, tell him to do the Ha Giang Loop and the multi-day caving in Phong Nha. Glad you guys were able to hang out as father and son.

For an American like your Dad, I really admire the way your Dad expressions when he experiencing difference Vietnamese foods. Watching him eating Vietnamese foods, I trully belive that he's really enjoy the foods as the Vietnamese. Thank you for having and showing your Dad to visit and try out the Vietnamese foods.

Ended up being abused financially, physically and mentally. So I hope you stay safe man, Viet women can be lovely but not all of them are, please just be careful when they start to ask you for money. That was a great video. Glad your dad is able to come see you. Both my parents are gone. My mother was alive. When I come to visit last January. And I was able to show her my trip. She passed away a couple months later at 92. Then I made my move to Vietnam. Anyway it was good seeing your dad with you. And having a great time. And wanting to come back.

yeah i think your dad really enjoyed the 2nd trip and kinda knew what to expect this time. so is he retired since he seems to travel a lot? does he have any thoughts at all of moving there with you? some good family time videos with him there.
he's not retired yet but he does travel often and he may consider moving here or moving abroad somewhere in the future

Have your dad hit up Westminster in Orange for Vietnamese foods. About 40 minutes from LA.
We went there briefly together in 2019 to visit a Vietnamese bakery in Little Saigon (this was after I had been living in Vietnam for a couple of years so I wanted to see Little Saigon)...but we haven't been back since...not sure if he has been there himself. Next time I visit LA we will go there together to get some Vietnamese food for sure

Of all your eating out, you have never tried any traditional/family meal such as "Canh Chua" or Sweet n Sour Veggie Soup, people have that in combination with "Cá Kho Tộ" a bowl of Slow-cooked Fish.
Yeah, those are more everyday home meals and I think for Tyler to eat something like that, he'd have to go to places that serves home style meals.

Yes, need to get public transport in place and sky trains and subways, double decker buses, put laws to stop honking, promote electric vehicles, solar panels. These what Vietnamese government need to do for the people.
