    I think they hit that one out of the park. It’s definitely on my list.

    Great video! Looks like parkhurst improved a bunch with the new build

    Horween Dublin is one of my favorite leathers.

    Those are some very nice boots! They look great with your denim.

    Oh heck! I've just realized we both have pieces written with Nick from Stridewise. Sweet!
    Their new build is overall just better; I have their Spaulding in the older build. It's not bad but it has more manmade materials (i.e, fiberboard/poron insole as opposed to the veg tan bend in these Allens). We need a pair of these in a dubbed roughout, flat welt and dainite; boondocker spec!

    I bought a pair in mint condition on ebay a month ago. Got them for $190 shipped which is a steal. I can tell the previous owner only tried them on. No wear yet. I am debating on using these as work boots and yet too sexy to waste on a work boot, but I think they could last for years as a work boot too. Does anyone have opinions on durability. I would honestly rather find a new home for them to someone who would rather use them more casually. I think they deserve to live longer than a work boot would give it. size 9.5.

      I’ve worn these for farm labour and landscaping and the work great for it! Incredibly durable. If they were going to be a primary work boot (provides you don’t need steel toe) I would consider having a commando sole put on when it comes time for a resole. $190 is an incredible deal!

    What size are you in Parkhurst vs Thursday Captains?

    • @bootsjeansandtheoddwatch
      @bootsjeansandtheoddwatch  Před rokem +1

      Usually the same (9 for both) but there have been some 9 captains that were too small

    • @bladerealm124
      @bladerealm124 Před rokem +1

      @@bootsjeansandtheoddwatch so the Captain is sometimes tighter than the Parkhurst (602) last? I'm a snug 9.5D in Thursday Captains (stormking) and I ordered a 9.5 Parkhurst Richmond 602. I'm hoping it's the right size even though I'm about a 9.5 brannock. I'm usually a 9.5 or 10 in every boot/shoe and almost never a 9 except for Taft so I thought 9.5 was safer than a 9.

    • @bootsjeansandtheoddwatch
      @bootsjeansandtheoddwatch  Před rokem +1

      @@bladerealm124 yep, the 602 will be similar length as captain but a little roomier in width and way more comfortable on the pinky toe. I think you’re going to fit them perfectly!

    Nice video. Did you say you thought the 602 last had more or less volume for your instep?

    • @bootsjeansandtheoddwatch
      @bootsjeansandtheoddwatch  Před 3 lety +1

      Definitely more. I’ve got a higher instep and it’s often a problem for me with fit. These were a touch snug in the instep for about 5 wears and now they’re perfect 👌

    I'm a 9 on the old 18 last, what size do you recommend for the new 602?

    • @bootsjeansandtheoddwatch
      @bootsjeansandtheoddwatch  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi! I haven’t tried the 18 last on but I believe length wise they are the same, the 602 is just a wider toe box. I would say if you have room in the length of your 18 last you might want to 1/2 size down but if the 18last fits perfect in regards to length, you’re probably the same size in the 602. The other option is to stick with the 18 last if it works for you. I just heard they’re restocking some boots this weekend! Thanks for watching!

      Absolutely love them! I posted an update video with some quick thoughts on the leather in case you’re curious what they look after a lot of wear.

      @@bootsjeansandtheoddwatch awesome ill check that out! I am seriously considering these as my first pair of non work boots. I have a pair of Nicks Tundra fire boots and love how the insole took the shape of my foot, hoping these do something similar!
