About Young Sheldon:
It’s 1989 and 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper has skipped four grades to start high school along with his less-intellectual older brother. As he struggles to be understood by his family, classmates and neighbors, his mother arms him with the best tool she can come up with: reminding bullies his dad is the football coach and his brother is on the team. His twin sister doesn’t share his exceptional mind, but she has a much clearer vision of what life has in store for the young genius.

I love how Missy encouraged the female scientist to pursue her coworker. While she's not as academically inclined as Sheldon, she's more observant and social than her twin.
@Christopher Bingham However, Sheldon was very boring and the scientist almost went crazy, and Missy interested everyone.
And it was terribly disappointing when we found out that Missy was alone in this family.
@Christopher Bingham There the scientist somehow held on.
@Christopher Bingham The point of the test is, as the male doctor later TRIED to explain to Sheldon, that there are different kinds of intelligence.
@Christopher Bingham Missy is a normal child. That’s what kids do. As for Missy failing if that falls on anyone it’s Mary. At this point Missy is under ten and I think it’s pretty unfair to call a child shallow. All normal girls her age are not interested in tests! Missy does have a quick wit and common sense which Sheldon lacks! How do you equate her child self and adult self being the same? In real life she probably wasn’t so shallow because most people learn from their mistakes and are certainly not the same people they were as children!
You need help and possibly to be tested yourself
Sheldon: high knowledge intelligence
Missy: high emotional intelligence
☺️
Both brilliant in their own way
Get a life dude
Eh. Disagree that they have the same value. Sure you need a balance of both but they aren't equal.
Social, not emotional.
@Christopher Bingham I watched every episode of this but not TBBT, and u knew that.
no, she is not, she endup pregnant by a random... a genius...
Sheldon: can outsmart stark industries
Missy: can prolly convince thanos to reflect on his life choices and make him think twice about killing everyone
I just imagined Thanos sitting at the corner thinking deeply about his behavior ahhaha
@@EA-uf4js for some reason that makes me think of thanos sitting in a rocking chair drinking coffee
Half.
Damn she should be an avenger
@@rbunnycomb agreed
Sheldon is Physicist
Missy is Psychiatrist.
Sheldon studies physics
Missy studies people
that's not what a psychiatrist does
That's a Psychologist. A Psychiatrist prescribes medication based on Psychological evaluation.
She can study me 😗(I'm the same age as her)
@@Not-Ap Maybe she's a street pharmacist 🤭🤭🤭
George jr is a sales consultant
'He doesn't have temper tantrums, he just has "strong opinions".' Gets me every time
I love how Missy says no one’s on her team because MeMa and Mary are always fussing over Sheldon! For once somebody called Mary on her tunnel vision bias for Sheldon.
@Christopher Bingham and that’s the last she spoke about Missy until she was slapped with the truth while watching Missy. Mary did however deliver her customary line….Sheldon’s upset! I don’t like it! Which her mothers character on Big Bang never said once. Actually older Mary usually took everyone’s side but Sheldon’s. She was more likable and more watchable but it’s not the actress fault! It’s the writers.
Maybe but her other 2 children aren’t awful people
Yep. And dumb as soup Georgie build the most successful chain of tire stores in Texas.
@Christopher Bingham First of all older Mary didn’t constantly say Sheldon’s upset I don’t like it! She always fixed it by making Sheldon do the right thing! Always! She never acted as if Sheldon needed Cottling. When he got out of line she had no issues getting him back in line. Most of all older Mary was a beloved cast member and she didn’t say she was a Christian every other sentence so was a lot more bearable! I’m a Christian but it doesn’t need to be brought up in every conversation to the point of irritation and I get the writers are going overboard on purpose or they think that’s what Christian Texans do and it’s not! I was raised in Texhoma which is the border of Texas and Oklahoma and we are the Biblebelt but young Mary is insulting!
*Meemaw
"I can't watch. Switch it back to Sheldon."
"I'm bored. Turn it back to Missy."
"Go ahead."
Gotta say if these two were con artist they would be unstoppable
true. with sheldon’s great mind and missy’s street smart
The female scientist does follow Missy's advice when they come back for another test.
Really
Why are you guys saying "female scientist"?
Can't you guys call a her "a scientist"?
@@TedEhioghae No.
@@TedEhioghae Because the scene has two scientists, classifying by sex makes it easier for people to comprehend the intention of the commenter.
Have a good day!
@@TedEhioghae Because distinguishing the two as "the male scientist" and "the female scientist" is better than using "the scientist" and "the scientistess" (or "the lady scientist").
"You won't get far with Fred and Wilma, get cracking on the kids" lol thats funny
“They’re scientists. You can’t trick em!” 😂
Missy is people smart and Sheldon is science smart.
Both twins are smart on their own ways: Sheldon is about academics and Missy about emotional intelligence.
And their older brother George is a mechanical genius.
Mary acting like Sheldon being upset is the end of the world...loved that George changed the channel instead.
Missy would have been a great psychiatrist or a detective. It's sad how her older version ended up. Hope this show diverges from that path.
We don't know what her day-to-day life is like. Just what we saw on TBBT. I went to both college and university (they're different in Canada) and worked at several jobs "in my field". The happiest I've ever been is working retail, so I went back to it. I also have tons of rewarding hobbies and a loving family.
Missy could absolutely love waitressing. In fact, given what we know about her, it seems very likely. And we know it didn't work out with her husband, but that doesn't mean it was all bad or that better things weren't on the horizon for her. Plus, I bet she's a great mom.
Never assume that somebody deserves pity or isn't exploring their full potential just because their job isn't prestigious.
@Christopher Bingham uhhh what
@Christopher Bingham If affects children just as much to bring them up in a home where there's no love. And if you're unhappy, there is no good time to leave. When the kid is 2? When the kid is 7? When the kid is 15? Until they're off to college and you've spent 20 years giving them examples of how to be miserable?
Sheldon and Missy could be terrifying If they got along and worked as a pair
I love how nice Dr. Sturgis is being to Missy.
Raegan Revord and Ian Armitage should be nominated for a best double act award. They're brilliant together. You can clearly see how comfortable they are, working with each other.
@Christopher Bingham Raegan is a great young actress, I've only watched her in Young Sheldon though. She plays her character so well, and she's my probably my favourite character is Missy. I would be surprised if she hasn't won any awards.
@Christopher Bingham that's a shame. She's a brilliant young actress.
Not that Missy isn't always adorable, but she's very adorable in this episode.
They really did missy wrong in Big Bang, she clearly has incredible people skills which can make you incredibly successful
People skills are for making you happy.
Was she happy?
@@Clavers1369, people skills are for building and leading teams to accomplish a goal, lifting up other people to capitalize on their strengths, and making the world a better place. Not just for "making you happy."
"That would accentuate her buttocks"🤣🤣 Dr. John Sturgis is hilarious.
This is one of my favorite episodes.
@Christopher Bingham Why are you up in everyone’s comments. We get it, you don’t like Missy in this episode and you think punches of joy is funny.
Missy is a genius in her own right.
So Sheldon has meltdowns, extreme difficulty in social situations, difficulty reading the intentions/ emotions of others, is hyper analytical, and is matching up with other suspected ASD individuals such as Dr. Stergus, and Einstein..... Sometimes you just look at the 1980's and say how could you NOT see the giant ASD waving flag?
For one thing, they were desperate to avoid it. Childrenwith ASD were still often taken away from their parents and locked up in facilities back then.
Man, Sheldon's actor voice really dropped on the later seasons.
I forgot how small he was
"Take yer tahm, baybeh. Meter's runnin'."
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I never thought I'd see a Texan family funnier than the Hills!!
Missy: “Because he couldn’t comb his hair?”
Fun fact, he's believed to have had 'uncombable hair syndrome", so John was wrong.
my mom was studied by University of Illinois Chicago in the late 80’s as a kid because she started speaking a lost Italian dialect. she told me how her parents had to bribe her with mcdonald’s and how she cried while standing in front of everyone. we still have the newspaper from it.
Mary not being honest about her kids and pregnancy triggers me, doctors don't need sugarcoated details
0:44 the smile of crazy happy
The way George told missy take your time baby melted my heart ❤️
I am reading the comments just to see who appreciates George’s line that ‘meter is running’!
He only said that because he'd be paid by the hour every time the twins went in for a test.
The way missy missy said the only thing wrong with Einstein was not combing his hair was funny
Missy will take half your stuff when she divorces you.
No, Missy will take all your stuff, and make you love and hate her for it.
I think yelling, stomping your feet and slamming the door off it's hinge is what everyone calls temper tantrums, Connie! But Mary's right, Sheldon always has strong opinions and only shows those key factors when people disagree with him. That's probably why he never decides to agree to disagree on anything with anyone. I think.
This clip is simply inconceivable!
4:41 moments like those make me like George even more.
Can’t bear to get to his death
HEHE His sister is an emotional genius. That's having a high EQ as opposed to IQ with which you're probably familiar.
all time favorite series
Inconceivable
Love Missy. Sweet girl
Because he couldn’t comb his hair ……😂😂😂😂😂 I choked on that one
Sheldon is just awesome!👍
Punches of joy 🤣🤣
Punches of joy 😂
Im jealous of Sheldon.
Not for his brains. For his sister.
0:14 That foreshadowed the ending of season 2.
I'd love me some tears of joy and don't forget to add some punches of joy v
the second day of the test is my favorite. it turns out that all three siblings were intelligent in some way.
Lol "Fred and Wilma here"!
Missy is smart in her own way
And then you find out that missy is actually smarter than Sheldon
www.google.com/search?q=is+missey+smarter+than+sheldon&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari&safe=active
Well in season 6 anyway
Mary’s catch phrase should be…Sheldon’s getting upset I don’t like it! Wah wah wah…
Punches of joy 😂😂
Why did I never realize they were twins?!?
I had extreme temper tantrums at a young age too
Definitely daddy's little girl ,i like that
I love Missy ...
“Punches of joy” repent Mary ! 😂
Both together could take over the world
Mary in denial, always putting on a show
Right. She is actually very vain, concerned about what other people think of her. And most of the time her smile is fake.
Missy is funny.
Take your time baby meter running 😂😂😂😂😂
Becuz he couldn't comb his hair 😭 0:21 lmaooo
The male tester was a regular cast member on CSI:LAS VEGAS.
1:25 Right Here, Thanksgiving 1986
As someone with aspergers and a hate towards "psychologists/psychiaterists", i enjoyed that "light reading on the toilet somewhat too much"
Sheldon isn’t special needs. It’s been stated by the creators that he isn’t.
@@zerotodona1495 i think you read it wrong. That comment made me laugh because of my own experiences
Missy!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What did George mean when he said in the last "take your time baby meter is running" ???
@Christopher Bingham oh I get it now. Thankyou so much😊
Missy is an adorable little girl
Missy is the best. Young Missy would work too.
Im from Germany. Wo kann man this series look?
I know a 2 ts of twins were one was a grade ahead of the other . Each a boy and a girl set of twins
I think what this episode confirmed for us is that both the twins are actually geniuses. Sheldon is an intellectual and academic genius, whereas Missy is a social and situational genius.
it’s a waste how none of the og cast did not grow up with him or had a moment with him, not even one.
Causes and effects
2:29 the lieutenant from s.w.a.t
I'm bored take it back to Missy😂😂😂
What kind of a bond dew twins have & do identical & the other set of twins have it?
Meemaw and George both thought Sheldon was boring and I am sure that the scientist conducting his tests thought so too. Missy wasn't interested in the tests and she probably couldn't answer the questions as well as Sheldon but she was.more interesting.
Missy is an excellent match maker though
This is basically IQ vs EQ
"that would accentuate her buttocks" was my part.
Sheldon: HIGH IQ
Missy: HIGH EQ
Wow
Sheldon:high iq
Missy:high eq
MISSY MISSY
There's an episode... Mary has some kind of issue at idea of profiting from the kids ( ie: Sheldon)..... And George says something like " That's how we are very different." You see that side of George here at the end when he says " The meter is runny."
He needs that money to cover a lot of things. 😂😂😂😂
Mary worried about how Sheldon feels during the second test, but with Missy feels guilty how it makes her look.
what episode ios thjis
This kids smart. That's it probably read alot no technology people seemed smarter without it to I was 12 when social media was under construction reading was something even though some ridiculed but look at the world now lol
Direct tv
2:31 That's probably why she wears it up! Professionals are not supposed to look "cute".
3:14 Again, she's professional, kid.
Those kids are hilarious. Missy being unprofessional and Sheldon showing off.
It’s kind of dumb that cute is seen as unprofessional
@@annataymond9529 Kinda, yeah, but humans will judge a book by its cover.
Missy just didn’t want to do the test honestly
Missy is a child, why should she be 'professional'??????? This comment is dumb.
@@arthurmorgan2887 Um, I meant she's being immature; I didn't mean she should have advanced degrees or whatever you thought I meant.
The way Sheldon looks at Missy at 0:27-0:28 is stupid. All Missy just did was ask a question.
I like missy in this episode & how she makes the coworker feel. I can't stand mary
Funny thing is that as much as people are focusing on this being a difference between emotional inteligence versus academic inteligence, it could actually be better interpeted as how culture pressure based on gender and how missy has been encouraged by her culture versus sheldon when in fact genetically they had similar knowledge capabilities rather than neccsarily emtoional releated capabilites.
There was a huge difference in academic intelligence between the twins, that's why Sheldon was in high school and Missy was in elementary school. Sheldon had a low EQ--he did not know how to respond appropriately in social situations and could come off as lacking empathy, more so than other guys in this show. For example, he asked if they were going to Radio Shack, right after the family received news that an acquaintance's child died in a car accident. You also have Paige in this show, who was smarter than Sheldon and was encouraged to audit a college-level physics class. I think it's unfair to say that gender preconceptions made Sheldon and Missy into who they were.
0:39
I think Missy just is uninterested in iq stuff she seems average or slightly above
IQ vs EQ
I just realized that they're fraternal and this experiment is pointless 😭
👍
As always, the mother does not support her daughter I don’t know how busy ever made it through. I’m glad she has her Granny. Her mother wants to take credit for all of Sheldon’s intelligence, but that has been so obnoxious.
